So are we talking them at 135 ? I like Mosley with his body punching to earn a close decision or late stoppage much like I do right now. All this talk of Mosley slowing down but you can see a dropoff of speed with Mayweather since he came to 147.

Mayweather beats Mosley at anytime in their careers imo it would be some fight in their respective primes

I will tell you what. I have fight tapes on both from around 1999 and 1998, and these were both special talents at the 130-135 weight class. If they would have fought in 1999 it would have been every bit the skillful display as Hearns-Leonard 1981 minus the big fanfare as neither was really popular at the time.

People on the board talk how Mosley is a skilled brawler seem to forget how efficient and skilled he was as a lightweight. In my lifetime I have never seen a lightweight destroy guys like he did. He did with skill, bodypunching, and speed. I don't even think he lost a round in all 8 of his lightweight defenses, maybe 1 or 2.

And Floyd's masterful displays over Genaro Hernandez and Angel Manfredy were special. He was a ring savant. He is now and was even more back then. Floyd was at his best at 130. Watch his destruction of Diego Corrales to be reminded.

I would have leaned towards Mosley on a close decision just on his desire and activity. Floyd would probably land the cleaner punches, but he would be retreating all night, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd hurt. I wish we could have seen this fight in 1999, and I hope we can see it in 2010. Hopefully Floyd steps up the plate, it is a long overdue legacy defining match-up.

the mosely who beat DLH in the first fight would out-work & wear Mayweather down. shane would win by clear decision or late KO.

at 135 it would be closer, but i think mosely would still pull out the decision.

I like this analysis very true. And the Leonard Hearns comparison is very good. Right now I feel Floyd wins but Back then I'd go shane

Shane would be completely outboxed. Mayweather by UD.

Mosley and Floyd have tremendous talent, but Mosley has tendecy to get reckless and wild and can be outside. Floyd is the more technical sound fighter and is smarter. He would make Shane pay for his mistakes in route to a UD.

How could you not give it to Mosley just based on an argument...the man was 32-0 30 kos...i would like to argue that floyd takes it but i just dont see it...I think Mosley takes a close split decision in their primes

If this fight happens now, we'll have a better idea of what would happen prime H2H
