    good post.
because we're talking about two fighters who have the will but not the ability in the bigger picture.

Mundine had some serious skills... especially for someone who started boxing so late with no amatuer pedigree... Pity he's a wanker, and no balls to step up the competition.

I'm Aussie. Used to be an avid Choc fan. But his career has gone to ****, and he hasn't proven **** in his career. Froch has shown what he's made of in his KO of Taylor, and proved he can overcome speed. Mundine throws too few punches and is far too tentative to ever pose a threat to Froch. Mundine knows it too. He turned down a fight with Froch a few years back. There is a reason he decided to fight South American cabbies istead top fighters like Froch. The only true top tier boxers he fought, Kessler and Ottke, destroyed him.

i'm australian too - i'm from perth. so bad call from me...

but the big difference between mundine and froch is that froch got a gift chance to prove himself against taylor and he made the most of it.

mudine's career didn't 'turn to ****' on its own - because he never tried to make it anything else internationally.

guys like froch and mundine need a break or to make their own luck if they want to crack the international market. and its just not going to happen for mundine while he stays in australia but doesnt try to make waves internationally.

Froch KO - he has his flaws but too heavy handed for Mundine. Remember Sven Ottke? Froch might be initially outboxed but he would connect and I can't see Mundine holding his power.

Mundine has his chance. His knockout of Soliman, who had given Winky fits, was pretty big in the world of boxing. Even Joe Calzaghe said Mundine was a future option in the buildup to the Kessler fight. Instead of Mundine taking fights like Froch to further enhance his status and cement his credentials for that big breakthrough fight, he chose to take the easy money fighting safe and meaningless fights out of Australia. He has only himself to blame as the opportunity was there.

maybe we are misreading each other.
i agree mundine has lost his best chance and will only be remembered as an 'also ran'.

In regard to Mundine, I think you have it the other way around. This is a guy who, if he had the balls to step it up, and had the self belief that he tries so hard to sell to the public, he would actually match it with top guys. He was beaten before he stepped in the ring against Kessler. Waste of talent, on a wanker with no heart.
