i know ppl here will pick norris but please tell me why? vargas was naive and could be hurt but norris was as equally naive and could also be hurt, i think norris would probably in a fantasy match up due to the blazing speed and accuracy of his combinations but it wouldnt be as 1 sided as many on here believe

Norris would win this fight by mid round knockout. He was too fast for Vargas.

I agree with the others. Norris was not only fast, but he threw powerful punches in short, crisp combinations. Too much for the very hittable Vargas. He'd be overwhelmed.

Norris' chin wasn't great, and it wouldn't shock me to see him sparked out, but Vargas just has more holes in his game.

    Agree with this.

I always felt Vargas fought in spurts due to his stamina, that maybe he got hurt more late in fight as that stamina started to diminish.

Norris would have taken Vargas apart. Theres two things that Vargas couldnt handle.... speed and left hooks. Norris had a very good left hook, and handspeed in spades. And just overall a much better technician and talent than Vargas.

    Norris TKO 9

:good I agree with you. I think this is much more even matched fight than people think... Norris speed might make the difference but lets not forget Vargas had quick hands and decent legs when he wanted too also, enough to keep up with Norris... Vargas had an average chin, Norris had a really bad one.. Norris get the edge in power but not by much.

Im only about 55/45 or 60/40 leaning towards Norris mid to late rounds... But wouldnt be suprised at all if El Feroz gets a ko here .

Yes, I totally see a late rounds KO for Norris. Terry's speed would befuddle Vargas.

Norris for me to quick to skilled Vargas was a good fighter and very brave but is overrated

No. Norris would make Vargas look slow. And Norris had the edge in power by a considerable margin.

Hes faster yes, but he wouldnt make him look slow. Norris had great speed and skills but some of you have forgotten that he was succeptible to getting tagged Carl Daniels,Simon Brown and even Troy Waters are guys that found Norris chin often, what makes you think Vargas couldnt? He was quicker than Brown and waters... Prime Vargas outboxed a still excellent Quartey,Wright(draw in my book) and many others.... Not saying Vargas wins this but dont act like he would be outclassed here.

Interesting fight ... Norris faster and the harder puncher .. a prime Vargas was tougher ... I lean toward Terry but would not rule Fernando out ... the night he fought Trinadad, Vargas was a hell of a fighter fighting a great fighter ...

I don't normally pick Norris in these what-if fights, but he'd win this one. He'd stop Vargas in 6.
