Floyd fans are just morons they recreate that fight in their head as a blowout over DLH. It was a dead even fight on just about everyones card until Oscars got tired and stopped jabbing. I dont see how 8-4 or 7-5 is easy agianst a Oscar who had fought just 6 rounds in the last 3 years heading into the fight

Tell that to fighters like Hopkins, Casamayor, Campbell and JMM who are all older than Whitaker was when he fought DLH.

Not to mention that a pre-prime DLH was the one moving up to fight
the best welter and current(at the time) PFPer in Whitaker!:deal

I see De La Hoya winning this fight by a clear 115-113 UD

The only place that fight was close was on the judges scorecards. I tried to give Oscar more then 4 rounds, I've really have. No matter how many times I score it I just cant given Oscar rounds on punches he didnt land and ineffective aggression. Not only did Floyd land the cleaner shots, but Oscar looked out of his element for most of the fight, he looked flat footed, and his punches landed on Floyds arms. His flurries have no pop.

And yes the fight would be competitive, but Floyd at a natural weight of 135-140 is much faster, and is more of a boxer puncher then a counter puncher. Floyd wins a close UD.

I like the other thread where someone says if Oscar wins next fight because of his use of the jab it's because Floyd let him.:rofl:rofl:rofl

The other two posts above who think Oscar didn't have power at 140 is blind nuthuggery that shows 1) they haven't seen Oscar's early fights, 2) the Pac nuthuggers are very rationale people compared to the Floyd fans.

i THINK fLOYD BEATS OSCAR 9 times out of 10.

Here is why,,,,,Oscar has never beaten an elite fighter in his prime....so i dont think he will start against this generations 2nd best fighter(1st Roy jones)

Floyd also in the 1st match seemed to be cruising and exploded in moments where he needed to...I think he would have several more gears for Oscar.

I understand people who have been Floyd Mayweather fans since the beginning, watching him as an Olympian or watching him at 130, 135. I have no problem with that. But the people who just started following boxing, watched MTV Cribs, and jumped on the bandwagon I just don't get. Seems as though they like him for all of the wrong reasons, citing his money, his flashy lifestyle, and trash talking on 24/7. What makes it even worse if how they pick him without hesitation over Duran, Pryor, Chavez, and even Hearns and Leonard at times. I can't classify them as boxing fans - just fans of a single fighter.

Right now, I have a lot more respect for the guy in your avatar. That's a guy who'll fight anybody at anytime, regardless of money. Even in his physical decline, he still damn near beat Cotto.

See, I don't have any problem with that. It's a fight Floyd could win, just find myself leaning towards De La Hoya's height and range.

    :good
