    Lets put it this way...

    Does Cotto beat:

    Prime:
    Tito Trinidad
    Fernando Vargas
    Shane Mosley
    Ike Quartey
    Vernon Forrest
    Ricardo Mayorga
    Winky Wright

Because these are the kats that were mixing it up during ODLH's prime.

I doubt Cotto would beat the Chavez and Whitaker DLH fought.

Why would you doubt that? Whitaker was well past his prime when he fought DLH. So was Chavez by a mile....

I don't even regard Whitaker and Chavez as welterweights either.

I think Whitaker was still a great fighter at welterweight. At least the 1993-94 Whitaker. I loved the way he put his punches together against McGirt in the rematch.

Yeah i agree the weight difference would be a facotor.
Still an action packed fight that could go either way imo.

DLH all day long......Cotto is very good and is a future hall of famer but DLH in his prime was a special fighter.

De La hoya barely got by Quartey and a shot Whitker at Welter, Cottos body atatck would be a big factor.....but despite that I see a SD for De La hoya.....range and the left jab

DLH by KO....Cotto can't outskill Oscar or take that kind of power.

The people that say Cotto need to study up on history a bit.

I think people tend to forget just how good a fighter De La Hoya was, particularly at 140. Cotto is one of my favourite fighters, but I can't see him beating a prime Oscar. I wish DLH stayed at 140 longer, he was excellent at that weight, really could've built a great legacy there.

Go back and learn who everyone was on Oscar's record. I mean everyone. Then, come back.

I think it would be a good fight not great , and I see Oscars hand speed being the difference and a bloodied and brave Cotto gets rescued around the 9th.

People who think De La Hoya's resume is poor really need a reality check. Either watch some of his fights or just stop trying to act like experts on the subject.
