I used to favour DLH over FMJ in a primes match due to size... but now, the more I think about it, I just dont think he has the skill level needed to pull off something like beating Mayweather, he`s simply not a good enough boxer, Mayweather by close but clear decision, similar to their actual fight.

mayweather by close but clear decision. Oscar even in his prime had trouble with smaller slick boxers and couldnt cut the ring off. When frustrated he always deviated from the gameplan (even against inferior boxers like molina) and didnt show adaptability he got by pre 2000 off of his talent and natural athleticism when he didnt have those advantages he struggled.
P.S the split decision verdict was BS mayweather won the fight clearly and de la hoya had all the advantages. It wasn't a prime mayweather because its not his prime weight so the logic of an old oscar did such and such to a prime floyd doesnt hold fruit here

Prime Oscar doesn't stop Floyd, it would take someone with bigger one punch power (Hearns) or simply far more relentless than Oscar to stop Floyd. He decisions him though in my opinion.

Prime Oscar by clear UD or late KO.

I think Floyd can survive with his defensive skills, but that's all he can do.

Floyd by decision. I don't know what fight people were watching if they think Oscar came close to beating Floyd when they did fight. The controversy should have been that Floyd never got a UD rather than that Oscar could have got the decision.

Oscar by UD, floyd doesnt have the heart for Oscar to get the Knockout, Floyd wouldnt push a lost war, he would retreat. Floyd doesnt have the heart to throw a hailmary!

Oscar looked very strong and fast the ring with mayweather that night. He simply got outclassed and the judges saved him some embarrassment by scoring the fight closer than it was. Oscar get outboxed everytime.

I gotta say tha some peope don remember or never knew how ****ing good Delahoyaas in his prime. Mayweather would get knocked the **** outtrying that shoulder roll **** against a Prime Oscar. Oscar had blazing handspeed, rock hard chin, footwork and tremendous heart. No way Floyd beats him. Mayweather wouldn't be able to stop Oscar's left hook or jabs. Oscar has the height and size to bother Floyd and he would have annhilated him. Oscar by KO. Please stop overrating Floyd. Show more respect to the golden boy.

Oscar would lose to Floyd at any point in his career ... Floyd is a way better fighter than Oscar. There's no way that anyone who Floyd has fought could beat him ...

oscar would win a UD, prime oscar like the one that fought mosley had a dynamic jab and was matching speed with the sugar-man, oscar was a different animal back in the day and he did came close to a win against floyd, agression and his stiff job was upsetting floyd i do agree floyd won but a prime oscar takes it at 147 and 154 its all de la hoya if anybody doesn't agree than they should watch more of young de la hoya.

Oscar was the total package. Very underrated defense, great offense, a great finisher, very fast hands, tall, long, great jab, could box. Oscar catches some **** on here. If some of you guys didn't get to catch Oscar live in the 90's, go check him out. he didn't just get that popularity cause his looks, he was one of the best.
