Even a prime De La Hoya was known for gassing. However, a faded ODLH was able to pick up enough rounds vs May to nearly beat him, so I think a prime version picks up the additional two rounds necessary. He keeps Pac on the outside more like Morales did until gassing and making it close down the stretch. Split decision either way. Ortiz throws wide and eats ODLH's jab too often. I take Oscar either TKO 8th round on or clear UD.
I'm of the opinion a prime Oscar and Shane beat both Pacquiao and Mayweather (though Shane does better with Manny and Oscar with Floyd than the reverse.) He beats Ortiz by knockout.
Prime Oscar wasn't known for gassing. He was actually known for his late rallies... such as his fight with Quartey.
Oscar UD Mayweather, he would dominate and TKO Oritiz, but I would favor Pac I think by close decision.
Oscar by KO vs Ortiz at any weight Oscar vs Floyd @ WW or above= Oscar close decision @ any weight below welter= Mayweather clear decision Oscar vs Pac @ WW or above= Oscar by KO @JWW or LWW= toss up @SFW= Pac UD
Pacquiao TKO delahOya @ 140 PBF UD delahoya @ 140 Pacquiao UD delaHoya @ 147 delaHoya UD PBF @ 147 delaHoya KO Victor "Vargas" Ortiz at any weight.
@ 135 Oscar beats Pacquiao and loses to Mayweather @ 140 Oscar loses to both @ 147 Oscar beats Mayweather and loses to Pacquiao Oscar beats the dog **** out of Ortiz at any weight.
Floyd didn't look great at 154, oscar was also ****ing huge middleweight in there. Below 147, 140, 135 floyd UD that ass everytime.
Oscar has the jab to trouble Floyd, and even moreso in his prime, where he had great footwork, speedy combinations, good reflexes and great punching accuracy. He was taking advantage of Floyd's sensitivity to faints and habits of moving backwards in a straight line to set up his offense. A sharper, quicker Oscar would simply take further advantage of this and do more damage. Oscar fighting like he did against Tito or even Vargas could also give Pacquiao a tough fight and possibly a loss. Dude was just fierce and could go toe-to-toe with the toughest in his division or box and move really well.
