I think you guys are being a bit hard on Pavlik. On that montage did you not see him beating up on the immortal Gary Locket?
You're right. Monzon was SEVERAL levels better than Martinez. Monzon would batter the Holy Hell outta Pavlik.
In Hopkins defence, they were close decisions, and he was about 40 years old at the time. And i think hed already ruled the division for about 10 years. And Taylor was....decent (but nothing special). Taylor also did put on a better performance against a much younger Hopkins than that other so called ATG, Calzaghe did.
So saying that Pavlik couldn't beat guys like Hagler, Robinson, Tiger, and Monzon is hate? LMAO! No one hates Pavlik. He was a damn good offensive fighter. But limited to the point that there's many middleweights in history would have been too good for him. For the record, if he was around today, he'd batter Cotto and Canelo. Both those guys woulda been too small for Kelly. I don't think he'd beat Golovkin, but it'd be a savage fight. MUCH better matchup than Golovkin-Lemieux.
Who hates Pavlik? Let's be realistic. He was pretty good at world level due to his height, power and chin. But he was limited. I don't see any hate on this thread.
