Pinky was a level at least above pulev , Thomas had a pole of a jab and would cause pulev who clearly lacked head movement to look pretty busted when the probable stoppage came about the 7th to 8th round

 

I think Thomas would beat Pulev, probably by decision, and he might soak up a bit of punishment in the process.
That was the problem with Thomas, even at his best, he tended to drag things out a bit and absorb too many punches.

 

Neither did the Klitschko in that case.

Kubrat Pulav didn't start in the pros until relatively late. He hasn't had that many fights for a man his age, and most of his best performances were workman like at best. Thomas established himself as both a good amateur and decent pro at an earlier age and fought better opposition with more positive results.

You're right.. Bad call on my part. For some reason I thought he was already touted as a force going into the pros, but as usual I probably confused him with one of his peers of that generation.
