Old Povetkin beats Old Holyfield imho. Would be a good fight.

The amount of cognitive dissonance that occurs with boxing fans is at an all time high in this thread. Both guys have shady pasts when it comes to PEDs but their supporters think they're angelic ambassadors of the sport. It's hilarious.

Holyfield still had enough in the tank to give Lennox a difficult fight with Lewis and split up a trilogy with Ruiz who was a decent fighter. No way Povetkin just rolls over him or wins a wide decision. It's gonna be close either way. Similar height, but Holy had arm length and speed while Povetkin was a little stockier and heavier. Neither guy was particularly overwhelming in the power department and generally needed volume to get a guy out of there. Holy had a cracking hook and a great combination puncher. Povetkin also had a decent hook and uppercuts and knew how to crowd a guy.

Holy had a better chin but Povetkin had more stamina than this version of Holy and had that Russian amateur discipline, rarely making mistakes or being wild. Holy always had a habit of neglecting his otherwise great technique to trade or brawl. I think this inevitably goes the distance. Povetkin went down several times but was only ever stopped once when past his prime against the hard hitting prime Joshua. Holy could crumble if he was given a sustained beating over a long stretch and could br sensitive to the body.

Gun to my head, Povetkin in a razor thin decision. Explosive youth and workrate convinces 2 of the judges. Probably wouldn't be more than 1 knock down, if any, and both guys would be right in front of each other in a Mexican style throw down.

A close fight and a distance fight. Holyfield was 37 in 1999 and past his prime I'd say. Povetkin at his best could take this. A close decision either way and we're now in fantasy land guessing how the judges would go.

Mendoza is a big Klitschko fan and obviously he tries to destroy the best american fighters' recognition including Holy or Tyson.
    That's all.

I did. What exactly is the relevance of that fight? Rahman had nothing in common with Povetkin other than a similar height and weight. Rahman was an aggressive boxer puncher with long arms and threw straight punches, while Povetkin was a close range fundamentally sound volume guy with short sharp hooks and uppers.
