Man I'll still go Povetkin. Byrd gave him a good go and made him work hard for his win. It was an old Byrd and a younger Povetkin. I feel that Sasha became more powerful later in his career and picked his shots better. Basically I feel that Byrd improves less to a prime version than Povetkin does. Credit to Byrd he did a hell of a lot in a division that imho he probably should never have been in.
The Chris Byrd that beat Tua I think would maneuver Povetkin into a UD12 loss. Chris Byrd began looking more human once he started listening more to commentators and started taking more chances to counter his (turn off) style. He did become more well known, but it cost him a lot.
I don't think Pov ever did anything to be compared to Byrd. Resume, H2H, or just picking a particular sequence in which a fighter shines like Henry's Ali KD or Marciano's Suzie Q. Unless you're talking about a single stat like Power, Byrd sons Povetkin in every category of greatness. IMO.
Probably Povetkin. But I think a younger Chris Byrd makes it a closer fight than their actual meeting
Y'all really into circular arguments that have no meaning and no end? I am not playing this game. ***** off with someone else.
Byrd was never the best heavyweight in the world. I don't think his career was better than Povetkins frankly.
