yeah of coarse, nothing to do with it at all. so your telling me that NAZ was another one of these 'Miranda' types. seriously, that sucks if thats the case, u need to watch more boxing man rather than just the fighters you like, typically PACFAN!
Yeah, the fact that I think Pac has exciting fights and enjoy watching him, that invalidates my opinion on anything else. Try reading any of my posts in the General or Classic, and leave your idiotic prejudices at the door. I guarantee I have seen more of Hamed's fights and more of his fights live in the flesh as I was actually there, I utterly guarantee it. The guy has astonishing natural ability, but the defects in his game were always there for all to see, he never improved his technique or defence significantly in his years as a champion despite attempting to reform after the Kelley fight. It doesn't matter if he was fitter than Bruce Lee on the night, Barrera had him sussed, and knew exactly how to defeat his style and rack up the points. You should watch more boxing, as your lack of knowledge of technique is exposed in this thread.
If the thread is about a PRIME Hamed vs Pac then no doubt a prime Hamed can beat not so prime versions of Pac. But what kinda arguement would that be? It has to be a prime Pac vs a prime Hamed discussion. Thus ultimately, it does boil down to a p4p arguement. Pac is in his overall prime right now....bigger, ripped, more skilled, able to take the punches of much bigger men, fearless, confident, experienced in big fights. He's the overall package and rightfully the p4p#1. Prime versions of Naz looked great against decent to good oppositions. Near-prime versions of Pac looked great against future HOFers. And he looked nearly untouchable in his first foray at 135.Its just illogical to believe that Hamed can come out winning, much less KO him out. I mean Pac has taken flush shots from much bigger men than Naz and never came close to being in trouble. So I repeat.... this version of Pac makes Hamed look even worse than MAB did.....coz in this fantasy matchup, Naz aint lasting the distance.
The thread said Hamed at his peak. Barrera was when he was at his worst after months of sloppy training and idiocy. At his peak at 122-126 Hamed wins in 7 but goes down once.
Your friend also forgets to mention that Hamed was with Oscar Suarez and Manny Steward - perhaps the worst ever fighter & trainer combo :deal A guy with a good chin would hold a big advantage over Naz - not many guys actually went the distance other than the bums paid to stand there for four rounds and the likes of Wayne McCulloch with an insane chin. Good speed, power, chin and adaptability will beat Naz - Barrera had all four and walked away the winner. How do you rate Pac's chin and adaptability - because that is the key......
pacquiao KO. people looking at this as a style's thing discount the intangibles pacquiao brings. even if it was a style's thing, pacquiao's more economical punches would find hamed first everytime out. hamed's no defense having stance, which made him look vulnerable, made opponents eager to attack him and would get countered with bombs. on the attack , hamed's awkwardness made him dangerous as well. pacquiao's insane speed allows him to close the distance quickly and attack with his offensive bursts, before hamed could even react. keep in mind, one of the best counter punchers of the past 20 years in jmm, still had trouble timing pacquiao's on the fly style of fighting. i think hamed would find it even harder, and would be taking a lot of leather from a elite puncher at 122-126. i will admit i think either guy has a good chance, but i think this is a 60/40 fight in favor of pacquiao. 122-126, imo it's close. at 130+ pacquiao would be a heavier favorite.
Pac wins..probably not by Ko though. Anyone who thinks Manny wins this easy is delusional. The Prince was a special fighter and I think it would be very hard to knock him out in his prime, he had a decent chin and was extremely awkward. If he didnt want to be stopped he could make it so..of course, however, he would have to sacrifice winning to do this but its obvious he was prepared to do that when faced with a superior fighter (eg.Barerra). Out of 10 fights Manny wins it 7 or 8 times with the other fights Hamed suprising Pac with a Ko punch.
