i think the rahman from the 1st tua fight or the one that beat sanders would beat byrd as well.

don t forget that rahman outboxed tua aswell, but got caught with a shot after the bell.that is why he lost to tua in their 1st fight.against holyfield he lost because of the head injury(cause by clash of heads).rahman was very powerful and had good reach.i think that would give him an advantage over byrd.

I agree about Tua. Byrd IMO won 9-3 vs Tua, and Hasim won most of rounds (I scored it 7-2 for Rahman) till he was stopped.

Holyfield won 5-2 or 6-1 till the headbutt. Even 40-y.o. Holy was too good for prime Rahman, but not for Byrd. Prime Holy would KO Rahman in mid rounds and beats Byrd by points or late stoppage.

As for their fight, I think Byrd wins 8-4 or smth like that. Yes Rahman was bigger and far stronger, but Byrd had good chin, excellent defense and great speed and counterpunching skills

to me bryd is a bit overrated.he didn t beat anybody significant except for an old version of holyfield and an overweight tua.vitaly stopped due to the shoulder injury.he fought a draw with a shot version of golota...nothing special here to me.

Tua at 233 was 12 lbs lighter and in much better shape than in Lewis fight.

Old Holyfield, prime Tua, Vitali (it was actually a competitive fight), McCline, and also lots of good boxers like Castillo, Williamson, Lionel Butler, Mo Harris, Puritty, Artur Williams etc.

Byrd pitches a shut over the limited and predictable Rahman.

Vitali is great at what? Fighting hand pick bums or getting beat by blown up middleweights? Moorers chin in horrible because Foreman,Holyfield who also knocked out Tyson and Tua stopped him? Then what does that say about Wlads chin? Sanders a nobody, Purrity a nobody, and Brewster a nobody knocked him out.

Comparing what Bryd did and Rahman did is pretty funny. Who do you think people were more concern with a true heavyweight with some pop or a middle weight who couldn't punch? Nobody took Byrd seriously. Good defense and that is it.

that's right Shawn. the rock was a true heavyweight. Byrd didn't have a punch,he was just slick.

The rock had a telegraphed punch and that was it.

    Byrd, and easily.

He's faced bigger punchers his whole career. Rahman, for all his power in that right hand, is sloooooooowwww as ****.

This is an easy UD for Byrd.

I see a similar result to the Ike fight. Byrd outboxes Rock but gets caught sooner or later, Rahman hit harder than Tua, McCline and maybe even Ike.
    He was also very strong.
