I think the next three or four fights are going to be the ones that can truly answer this type of question. Without that evidence it's just guesswork, or chest-thumping insults more likely.
I guess Mercer, i think he can take anything Haye can trow at him and Haye can't take it back. I don't think Haye would get to the end to outpoint him.
You aint going to get an honest opinion on here. The Ukrainian wannabes will be all over this like flys round ****.
depends what version of Mercer we're talking about? The version that fought Lennox would KO Haye... the Mercer that fought Kiltschko would be a 50/50 in my opinion
ok i'm a klit fan but that's funny. i agree with everyone above saying we don't know enough yet about haye's resume. the kneejerk reaction is to say mercer, and it's warranted by what we've seen. but that's because mercer faced better competition in a better era. once haye gets more bouts against top tier opponents we'll be better able to judge how he'd do.
good point but the klit mercer was very past prime. i still think klit would have won against a prime version but that mercer was well worn.
I think even the Mercer who fought Lewis was past his prime, and lost most his attacking options and depended on his chin to get him into positions to counter the lewis Jab and cross. I think Haye beats that Mercer, simply cos he pot shots, in and out,and wouldnt be in one place long enough for Mercer to tie and hold him down. But the one that KTFO of Morrison, now that Mercer would give Haye problems.
Yup, the fact that Mercer fought a Klitschko will make them go ape****, any minute now they'll be quoting KO percentages and copy/pasting from "thread reply" their Word documents.
