You are quite obviously smitten with Ike, and not clear on the fact that he was a raging lunatic and *******. A year or two before the Byrd fight, Ike abducted the child of a former girlfriend and drove straight-on into a telephone pole, maiming the child. A diabolical travesty of justice occured in that situation when Ibeabuchi managed to get off. Word on the child was that he was crippled for life....but I am not completely clear on the extent of his injuries. That aside, a "red flag" should have gone up on just the kind of person Ike was.

Then there was Bob Arum's account of his dinner with Ike, a meal in which Arum felt he was dealing with a guy that was several cards short of a full deck.

Later came the call-girl incident.

Other notable tidbits about this ****-wad of an excuse for a human being include his attempts to choke the life out of a sparring partner, his inability to reason in a balanced fashion in the face of a dispute, and his apparent routing in sparring, over many sessions, at the hands of Kirk Johnson, as per Tedddy Atlas.

Ike certain had a propensity for finding himself knee-deep in **** for a guy that you feel was essentially "victimized" by the system.

I won't bother wasting time pointing out the controversial nature of his win over the smallish Tua, or that he never beat down a big, great heavyweight. Ike-followers love to look back and dispense credit upon this admittedly intimidating clown despite the fact he had much to do yet before actually being deserving of that credit, whilst turning a blind eye to his dastardly deeds outside of the ring.
