Ruddock also left himself off balance much of the time. Frazier had so much power in that Left Hook. He didn`t have to load up on it {Unlike Ruddock} to be effective with it. He could get concussive power on short inside hooks or from Mid Range. He didn`t need time or room to operate. It was just a nasty punch and he worked it overtime. Though Joe Frazier could hit hard he never really depended on one big punch to end a fight he worked and chopped opponents down with it. Frazier IMO would land the cleaner shots inside between Razor`s telegraphs and low punch output. Ruddock could certainly have his moments and but at the end of the day he`s gonna get the worst of it.
Don`t write Marvis off too quick remember he beat a prime Bonecrusher Smith Not sure how that was possible considering Smith had so much size and weight on him.
I dont think you ever saw him fight, in fact I think you are a liar, which is why you are clueless about how he fought. You read what some nostalgists write about his non stop aggression coupled with a devastating left hook, plus a tremendous amount of courage, and you think that was all there was to it. The reality is Joe took a hell of a lot more punches in his relatively short career than he ever landed. Joe had just that 1 fight in 71, and it was a great win for him, but it doesn't alter the fact that a relatively light puncher made his face resemble pizza, and hospitalised him for numerous weeks. And you want to write garbage about Ruddock, having little or no chance. Have fools, and Walter Mitty's like you ever stopped to think that it might have done Joe a favour if Ali had been a devastating puncher, because the first, and second fights would have been over a lot quicker, and there wouldn't have been any need for the 3rd one and the torture Frazier suffered over those 3 bouts.
What you write is nonsense. Ali was not a devastating puncher by any means, but with a 60+ KO % age over more than 60 fights he certainly wasn't a " feather fist " whatever the fvck that is supposed to be. What he was though was fast and accurate enough to do Joe Frazier much damage.
Don't be so stupid man, and before you go any further learn the first rule of holes. WHEN YOU ARE IN ONE, STOP FVCKING DIGGING. Ali faced numerous "puncher's" during his career. NONE of them stopped him. Don't try to make yourself even more ridiculous than you already are by claiming that Liston, Williams, Foreman, Holmes, Shavers, and yes even Joe couldn't punch.
I think you've never heard of Joe Frazier let alone see him!! Ok Einstein tell me and show me where he took a hell of punishment before he met possibly the greatest heavyweight of all time in Ali??? All Ruddock did was throw the smash every now and again whilst shouting "fore". Frazier would have read it like a book and punished him badly.
It is very difficult to use reasoning when dealing with unreasonable posters like boy elroy and foxy (elroy light). I also think Frazier would win, but also think some are having knee jerk reactions to elroy/foxy and going to the opposite extreme. I think Ruddock was much better than is being portrayed, likewise that a loss to Foreman does not mean Frazier gets KO'd by every above average puncher who has come along. I do think Frazier would be troubled by Ruddock's size and power, and after some early moments of trouble that he would begin wearing him down in similar fashion to Mathis...and ultimately he (meaning Ruddock) would get stopped or over 12 lose a convincing decision.
Fair point regarding Frazier. Other than power what ways was Ruddock better than he is being portrayed? What areas of his game are being overlooked?
My personal opinion is that Ruddock at his prime (which I find to be PRE prime Tyson and likely pre Smith but I can go the time frame) was a much more well balanced/rounded boxer than the durable head hunting in love with his power searching for a KO, rather than setting an opponent up for it, that he evolved into around the Tyson time frame that everyone is using in this hypothetical. Ruddock like Tyson may have still been near a physical prime as a fighter when they met, but neither was as well trained and prime/peak from a mental/preparation standpoint IMHO!
yet, your v-cash seems diminished...a shame when you lose imaginary bets...and then want to be perceived an expert....
