    Rex Layne beat Jersey Joe Walcott, and I believe that was before Walcott won the title and before his 13rd fight with Marciano. I think he also had a win over Ezzard Charles who, though not at his peak, still had enough to give Marciano hell over 15 rounds later on. So I think he would beat Leon, probably in 4-5 rounds.
