Aww come on, I doubt one sided. Mayorga would have his moments.

Mayorga lets Duran hit him in the first round and this trend never stops to the final bell. Good chance of a late accumulation stoppage for Duran.

If Duran gets frustrated at Mayorga then there is a good chance of him losing composer and making a mistake.

I think you need to watch a little more Duran.

To actually analyze the styles and the history, this fight would be a classic.

Duran would likely win, on sheer toughness, grit, and a tremendous skill advantage. But he NEVER backed down from a fight, and as amateurish as Ricardo is when he swings away, several fighters with quite a decent defense still get hit and hurt by him. I dont see Duran getting stunned, but you better believe he'll meet Mayorga like a man, and take some right hands while dispensing a two fisted head and body attack that will slowly wear Mayorga down to a nub. In the end, a TKO, with both guys knowing that it was a battle.

No, I'm just saying he's never faced anyone who will literaly drop his hands and let Duran hit him at will then throw 4,5,6 punches back. ALL with bad intentions.

But he faced guys probably as tough as that but who didnt give him free shots or were so open after punching.

I always assume in these mythical matches that we are talking about fighters on their best nights at the choosen weight, otherwise we would just be comparing resume at the weight so with that in mind I say the Duran that beat Leonard or Palomino would be way too much for Mayorga - any version of Mayorga - & if you want to get a preview of a watered down version then go watch Mayorga/Tito or Mayorga/DLH.

Ricardo is way too ragged & wild to have a prayer vs Duran & this is the sort of fight were Roberto would just have plain fun, it would be exciting because of the style clash but as for competitiveness, no, sorry, a complete mismatch.

Ps. Now matching Mayorga`s conquerers (Trinidad & Oscar) vs Duran, that would be a better talking point but not Mayorga, just a completely different level Im afraid.

    :thumbsup

I just think the Mayorga who beat Forrest would give a great account of himself.

Forrest wasnt 100% so Duran would still kill him.

Did he have that rotator cuff injury then?

I had the 2nd fight a draw actually.

First one obviously injuried and the second fight it looked like it still lingered.

    Nonesense.

Mayorga is one of the few men who ever climbed into the ring that i might say was tougher than my second favourite fighter ever, Duran.

If Ricardo's in shape, and hasn't been smoking and is at prime and motivated, he will go the distance with Duran.

Of course he will lose a very lop-sided decision, but i don't see Duran stopping him.
