Yup.

I don't blame Mayorga for that though. That was Don King all the way. He had no intention of letting his triage run into Margarito. He knew what was up way back when!

Margarito KO around the 8th round. Mayorga had a steel chin but he didnt like it to the body. He ate three left hooks by Tito like they were nothing...but the moment Tito got him to the body he was on the way down....and Margo hits the body a lot.

 

Margo KO 9 in a great action fight.

His defense is better than Mayorgas and also his chin is.
Mayorga might have more power but come on. Nobody can hurt Margarito at WW.

I honestly think it would be hard to think of a WW that could drop Margarito. He has taken flush shots from the 2 hardest hitters in the WW division and never stopped grinning.

It was part of a deal w/ King. Margarito defended against Kyvelos, and was to get Mayorga after. King balked and went into another fight instead.

 

After Margs KO'd 6 heads he puts on a shirt that said I want Mayorga

I can't believe the # who say Mayorga. The ONLY thing Mayorga has an advantage over Margarito is in hand speed. But that doesn't matter, since Mayorga is a home run swinger who strikes out more then anything. His power is INCREDIBLY overrated. I mean, he stopped (and not even a full KO) Vern Forrest HOW many years ago and he's still living on that?

Margarito has a MUCH better punch selection, higher out put and is way more dedicated to fighting then Mayorga ever was. And it's doubtful Mayorga could keep up the volume punching, since he'd be easy for Margarito to force to match punch for punch. And Mayorga STILL has terrible technique. He does a lot of side slapping, as evident in many recent fights.
