Would go w/ Hatton at 140, Cotto 147.

At 140 I would probably favor Hatton. Cotto looked sickly at 140 to me. Both had Glass Jaws at the weight but Hatton's 'Hit & Hold' style might grind down a weight drained Cotto over 12 rounds.

Prime Hatton at 140 is underrated .. some people think that just because he was an aggressive front footed fighter he had little skills.. but he actually had great punch variety & mixed it up well to head and body.. his downfall was that he was too emotional and he was ill disciplined out of the ring.. but Ricky was a great fighter man I think this would be a great fight as well not sure who I'd pick prime for prime

That was at 147lbs. He didn't beat Mosely at 140lbs.

I agree with the narrative most subscribe to in this thread. Cotto obviously proved to be the much better fighter p4p and above 140lbs but Ricky was better and accomplished more at 140lbs people seem to forget now how good he was.

He beat a lot of solid fighters (10 world champions). Even at 147lbs it be a good fight but most likely a Cotto domination once and if it got past 6.

Compare both their fights vs. Paulie. Remember too that Cotto had to pull that stunt where they had the weigh in 48 hours before the Paulie fight. Such a shame this one didn't happen.

Cotto would outbox Hatton and outfight him as well, at 140 or 147.

At 140 Cotto hadn't peaked and was drained at the weight which is why he looked chinny at that weight. I think Hatton of the Tszyu fight beats him, probably stops him.

Cotto at 147lbs though beats Hatton and probably stops Hatton. Hatton was a very physical fighter, at 147lbs against bigger men his greatest strength was totally nullified which is why he looked so poor at 147lbs.

Cotto in the end became the better fighter, became far more skilled and savvy in the ring because he was using the training camps to actually get better when Hatton was simply using them to get down from the excessively high weight he had ballooned up to between fights. Because of this Hatton stagnated he never really got any better after the Tszyu fight while Cotto continued to evolve and surpass Hatton as a fighter.
