I generally enjoy your posts, threads and observations...but what is this decision based upon....certainly not Durans real life record from late 75 to 80 when he was fighting near this weight???
I didn't vote at all and explained that i would pick Duran! Duran is the safe pick, he would clearly be the favorite, but based upon duran's record from 75-80 a few posts back i showed what Duran did...I would actually pick this similar to the Palomino fight, going the distance and Duran taking a decision... But it is not unconcievable that hatton could pull of an esteban I type upset either...not my pick, but also not without merit!!!
I know 8 other people said this so you felt that it was a safe option, but again who did duran defeat inside of 10 rounds from 75-80 that make you forsee this as a likely outcome??? Certainly a possibility, but not likely based upon the evidence of both fighters!
Not only is this the first analysis given on 5 pages of how the fight might play out, but it is also a logical possibility!!! good work!!!
I also enjoy many of your posts and the insights that you have to offer!!! I also agree that thread did not need to be done as we see that most are not even trying to give it any credence (if not why bother posting here???)...but I don't see why this would be uncompetitive...Duran was not blasting out guys on the championship level from 75-80, and hatton was certainly of that level...I think he holds his own in a Palomino type effort, with Duran taking a decision, but I don't see why hatton is unable to compete on this level in his prime???
it would be interesting hatton is obviosly faster and even better technique? hatton to me is the better version of duran but..... he cant take durans shots and cant fight on the inside with duran as noone can do this they'd die :yikes Duran KO late
WTF? Why Duran and Hatton? Roberto Duran never fought for at 140 title and his prime weight was at 135, so how the hell is this a "prime Duran"? Same goes for Hatton, he never even once fought at Lightweight so how would Hatton be in his "prime"? Also, if this is at Welterweight, they were never in their primes at Weltereweight. Holy ****, not one person noticed this? atsch atsch ****, just another mindless, useless, hypothetical question that doesn't mean ****.
Didn't realise just how butt hurt you'd be. Looking forward to your next thread, Ali vs Moorer by any chance?:think
Not sure yet... i'll post an Ali vs Moorer thread if you really want me to. I mean, 2 posts and I can see that you are an egotistical ***** so heres the deal... i'll post the ali vs moorer thread and you can come on and tell me how thick i am for asking the question and then put a few little emoticons on the end, that way you can get your little ego boost and feel happy for the rest of the day!!! Deal???
Egotistical? Nah, just common sense mate, something your part of the UK lacks, so I'm not surprised by your tone or reaction. 90% for Duran, my my what a surprise. Here's me thinking it would be closer to 50/50. All these guys are thinking the same btw, I just said it out loud.
Duran won the title at LW in 72 and from 74-78 rutinely fought at 140 wether it was for a title or not it was lat 80 when he beat SRL for the WW title, so if you want to say he was past his prime that is fine but merely a matter of speculation...regardless he was still at his peak from 75-80 when he was engaiging in fights at 140 and had several, clearly enough to gauge how this fight would go down at LWW/140!
