The judges will favor Hatton over Bradley..... Brandon Rios is a little bit younger and weaker than prime Hatton, he gets worked over 12 Amir Khan won't get Hatton's respect, and Ricky Hatton ends it in a hurry during the 3rd round Danny Garcia could probably win a UD, but will pay for being a slow starter. I believe Hatton will edge out a decision.
I am a JMM fan but think Hatton would walk though him win by UD or late stoppage. Too big, too strong and too fast at 140 in his Prime JMM is better below 140
I could see all of those guys giving him a hell of a fight, but I don't think any (except Marquez) are really a 100% definite L for Hatton. He would have done very well in today's 140lb landscape for sure.
Threads like these show how the rose tinted goggles effect how boxing fans look back at fighters. In his heyday Hatton had so much criticism surrounding him. He retires and suddenly people think he can clear out today's fighters. BS.
My take on this. JMM and bradley, and especially Judah shouldn't be discussed in this thread as the OP said TODAY'S 140 lb'ers. JMM and Bradley aren't interested in 140 lbs. These guys are past that level as far as fights that interest them, so the current crop we can fairly compare Hatton to would be Garcia, Khan, Rios, and Matthysse. Garcia=good figher but vastly overrated because of good timing. Hatton effectively walks this kid down and neutralizes his best weapons. He bangs the kids body and takes him to a place he can't stand and ends it around 4. Khan=Too fragile mentally and physically for a terror like the hitman TKO 6 Rios= fight of the millenium candidate with the naturally slightly stronger and faster Hatton hitting rios with too many effective punches for the chicano to take. TKO 10 Mattysse= The most unpredictable outcome. The argentine is the best of gthe bunch of aforementioned fighters and has the power, size, and strength to make Hatton pay for his mistakes. Lucas hasn't really been bested in his pro career yet so i'm making this a slightly favorite win for Hatton but very narrowly. I'm very confident he beats the rest when he was in his Tszyu winning prime.
Matthysse and Marquez beat prime Ricky, Bradley is an interesting, Khan is a 50-50, Hatton fans, Ricky is no puncher Hatton ducked Judah and Corley, Judah could easily do what Pacquaio did, too much speed and angles Spinks and the guy Hatton ran from for 10 years Yes Pacquaio who sparked Ricky in 2 couldn't atsch
You are kidding right? Matthysse would **** on Hatton. Hatton was one of those Frank ****** protected boxers. His best win is Tszyu, which was a good win. There is a reason Hatton was matched soft up until that point though.
