He embarassed Toney and Hopkins. Are you serious? He would've knocked Griffin out in the 1st fight if he didn't get DQ'd after Griffin just took a knee to escape.

I also would not have minded seeing Jones and Floyd Patterson at 168 or 175. I always thought Floyd would have been one of the p4p greats had he not gone to heavyweight. His speed and reflexes were incredible and he had a big punch. I don't think his jaw would have been the factor it was at hvy either. Any opinions on Jones-Patterson?

    I reckon:

    Jones W12 Leonard 116-111
Jones TKO11 Hearns (although I give Hearns a good chance of KOing Jones)
    Spinks TKO11 Jones
    Robinson W12 Jones 115-113
    Jones W12 Lamotta 120-108
    Jones W12 Calzaghe 117-110
    Jones W12 Hagler 114-113
    Jones W12 Darius M. 117-111
    Jones W12 Tarver 119-109

I agree with your summary concerning Patterson as a 175 fighter, hell on wheels is what he would be.

However, it should be added as far as the Jones bout goes, anytime a fighter's greatest asset - here, Patterson's hand speed - is overhaled by a potential opponent, I fear for that fighter. Jones has faster hands than Patterson (they are the #1 and #2 in HW history, probably, but there is a difference.

Although Patterson has the right style - swarming, busy - I feel that Jones edge in composite punching could give him the edge.

Be a great, great fight though.

The first Griffin fight was an anomally, fired up Roy KO1..

Have you seen those fights? He dominated Toney and won 8 rounds against Hopkins think I gave him 9 against with ONE hand.

At 160, RJJ didn't have much experience at top level. Many ATGs and not so all time greats would beat him.

    At 168, he beats anybody.

At 175, he would be beaten by Moore, Foster, Spinks, etc.

This is the best list you could muster up of 175 pounders who'd have a chance at beating him?

This list is rather limited and excludes many a great light heavy.

At 160, he wasn't Roy Jones the super beast we all went on to see. He would probably be beat by the guys were at middleweight for awhile. And he would be favored over fighters like, SRL, SRR, Hearns, who were moving to that weight.

At 168 no one beats him.

And at 175, not a lot of fighters beat him. But some do.

Need to be able to choose more than one....

All of em could. Not saying they would. But they could.

Nothing is ever 100%.... it only takes a cut, an injury, a lucky punch.

As for who would have beat him from that list.... Hagler and SRR at middle, JC at SMW, Spinks at LHW all have reasonable shots. Hearns has a punchers chance at any weight.

RJJ was very good. He wasnt god.

At 160 and 168, nobody beats him in my opinion. At 175, Spinks and Foster do.

I would favour Spinks, Foster and Charles to beat him at 175lbs.

I think that Roy beats every fighter at 160-168. Gets beaten in a series by Foster most likely, loses to Spinks but not everytime by any means.
