Its funny how people that favour Roy Jones over Calzaghe always say Roy would win if they had fought at a certain point in time, most boxing match ups are boxer A would beat boxer B , but there again they would have to say that as Joe has already comprehensively outboxed and beat their man in the ring.

Trampie you're running on fumes here. The thread title puts both men at a certain period. Nobody is saying Calzaghe is not a HOF and ATG but to put stock in him beating a 40 year old man 6-7 years removed from his prime is foolish. Larry Holmes wasn't better than Ali and DLH was no Cesar Chavez of course it matters at what point they fought when we're talking who was better.

Are we talking about a Roy Jones that is juiced up on 'ripped fuel' or a juice free Roy, that would have a bearing on who wins prime v prime.

Was he on juice when he was the best athlete in the olympics? Juiced When he was a young phenom ripping through everybody as a young professional? When did the juicing start? Was it after his first title, was his dad mixing ripped fuel with his formula as a child? This guy has been a terrific athlete since the amateurs so when did he start shooting up?

Good question, when did he start taking 'ripped fuel' you tell me ?

Do you think he only took 'ripped fuel' once ?

If Roy only took it once and the rest of his career was clean, he was magnificant, if he had taken it on other occasions, and lets face it, he would not admit to that, he was merely just very good, and Joe Calzaghe would then be better than Jones prime for prime.
I know he only failed one drug test, but that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, what with masking agents and all that.

Roy could be guilty of a misjudgement and nothing more, if that is the case its a pity for him.

Roy was a much better fighter than Joe. Everybody knows it. Try something else Trampie, your bias is boring and it's not convincing anyone. Yawn.

So says the ***** who dick rides Pac to no end:dead. Guys, this is a guy who said Bungu was Hamed's best win, and when analyzing Pac and Cal's comp, he did the research on the records of the comp Cal beat... He even made up an alt who said PAc is better than Cal, and that alt was a Cal fan lol. I never heard from the alt again:lol:. I like Jones over Cal in their prime, but that would be a hell of a fight!

I am not biased, I am fair and even handed, you are the biased one, who has got a track record of hating Joe Calzaghe.

For example, I think Roy Jones Jr is great, I think Bernard Hopkins is great, I think Joe Calzaghe is great, I respect them all as boxers.

You think Roy Jones Jr is great, you think Bernard Hopkins is great, but you think that Joe Calzaghe is ****, you like to call Joe a fraud - am I right ?, you have no respect for Joe Calzaghe at all.

I have no problem with anybody saying a prime Jones or Hopkins is better than Calzaghe, although I personally think Joe beats Hopkins every time, I have no problem with that, what I do have a problem with, is when posters like the thread starter and yourself say the two Yanks are great and Calzaghe is crap, that is just wrong {Joe beat them both in the ring}and its disrespectful.

Joe was a very good fighter, but he simply wasn't on the level of Jones or Hopkins. Simple.

Highly ignorant post, Calzaghe would've been competetive.

I think Roy Jones Jr would've inevitably won on points, but it would have been a competetive bout.
