    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

2 fights in the USA against opponents with a combined age of 80+, you failed to mention that.

The fight in Germany was a rematch against a guy he'd already knocked out in 1 round, and the fight in Denmark was against Will McIntyre, a club fighter.

Slappy Joe didn't do risk, please don't try to make out like he was some kind of warrior because he fought in England, he NEVER got hostile treatment in England, not once.

Now Brian Mitchell made like a dozen defenses of his belt...ALL in enemy territory. He was a south african, during apartheid no less, that went to countries that would rather spit on him than serve him. Oh and he won. Every time. That's a road warrior

Not to mention Azumah Nelson....there's several others but there's no point in naming them because the Slappy fans will come back with more nut-hugging bollocks in a desperate attempt to try to prove that their man is anything other than the **** he really is.

Of course not. I placed Joe Calzaghe in my all-time p4p top 100. I think he is overrated, I think his resume is feeble, but I have always said he was a very, very good fighter.

You on the other hand are becoming notorious for threads which attempt to look objective but which are really desperate attempts to discredit Manny Pacquiao in any way you can.

Where did you rank Pacman in your widely ridiculed top 400, around 120th was it??

It's clear who is the biased one here. :good

I don't know what 'biasness' is, but I do know the reason I didn't respond was because I wasn't online. Nice use of emoticons there champ.

At 168: Jones dazzles and stops Calzaghe, Hopkins and Toney thoroughly outclass him and win convincingly on points, Monzon and Hagler dominate him.

At 175: Top level lhw's like Spinks, Qawi, Saad Muhammad, Mustafa Muhammad, Jones all blitz Joe.

He was a very good fighter, good enough to beat the Lacy's and the Kessler's, but he was never in this sort of league. The evidence is there in his fights. Forget the zero, just watch him and see the limitations against merely decent comp.

You're saying that Delaney versus Calzaghe in Brentwood was not a hostile home crowd? :think

What the f**k are you on about, Calzaghe fought Mark Delaney in Delaneys own patch, the cockneys hate the Welsh and vice versa, major rucks across the 'East End' that night
Delaney is East End born and bred, Del was his nickname, fought most of his fights at the Elephant and Castle and York Hall, Bethnall Green.
His brother Gary Delaney {Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champ} is doing life for murder, killed a bloke with his bare hands, Delaney in front of his mad 'Eastend' crowd was a hell of a fight to take on.
Wikipedia describes the crowd as ''ferociously partisan'' the BBC described the crowd as ''thousands of fervent Delaney fans packed into the arena, but their anti-Welsh jibes only served to pump up Calzaghe''.
Delaney had won 21 out of 21 fights, Calzaghe was a skilled slick boxer in those days, did he run ?, did he stay out of trouble ?, did he heck, he smashed Delaney up, in a brawl.

Calzaghe dropped Delaney for the first time in his career after 20 seconds.
Calzaghe knocked Delaney down in the second round, braking his nose.
Calzaghe knocked Delaney down twice in the 5th round, the ref then stopped the fight.

Take your hat of too Calzaghe he went into the lions den and stood toe to toe with a hard b*****d in front of his people and gave him a hiding.
Calzaghe can fight slick or have a brawl - fair play to Joe.

Calzaghe fought Richie Woodhall in Sheffield
Calzaghe fought Robin Reid in Newcastle
Calzaghe fought Chris Eubank in Sheffield
Calzaghe fought David Starie in Manchester

He's a regular Harlem Globetrotter alright.

A pro Richie Woodhall crowd in Sheffield, Jesus that must have been akin to the seething fury that Greg Haugen encountered in Mexico City when he fought Chavez.

The woodhall fight in Sheffield is no big deal I agree.

The Delaney fight though, **** me that was pure hatred towards Joe that night, getting spat at towards the ring as well and he shut the ****s up good and proper.

''Robin Reid pushed Joe all the way in his young "healthy hands" days''

Calzaghe won the fight on two of the judges cards 116-111 !!!
    {The only controversy is the other judge giving the fight to the home boxer}

Calzaghe hurt his hand early in the fight.
    {Calzaghe also had food poisoning}

By all accounts, the crowd at the Delaney fight was indeed viciously partisan. Although I believe Joe is widely overrated, I've never tried to say he wasn't made of stern stuff. He was always mentally strong.

I heard he also had sore eyeteeth, an ingrowing toenail, a nasty rash on his wrist because his watch was too small for him, and too much gel in his hair.

On reflection, with all those problems, Joe actually did magnificently well to go to a split decision with the mighty Robin Reid.
