What about Jones? He has a punchers hope in hell against Jones, but not against Calzaghe. Jones is the one he is most likely to beat, though Joens is arguably the most brilliant of the three.

I think Jones's athleticism coupled with his size and awkwardness give Hagler fits @ 168. I don't think he'd have as much problem with Calzaghe because I don't think Joe is that level of athlete and I don't think he had the punch that Jones had. Not saying that Cal couldn't beat him though.

roy jones is hands down the ray robinson of our era. nobody else compares with him. trust me 10, 20 years from now roy jones will be revered. all greats lose towards the end of their careers, muhammad ali lost 3 of his last 4 no1 can even dare say ali was overated. trust me roy jones is going down as one of the greatest

Calzaghe is not on the same level as roy jones or bernard hopkins plain and simple he just did not fight the same level of competition. For me his fights against Lacy and Kessler was his defining fights, Hopkins and Jones were both way passed it I think they were just fights for money and not much else. Kessler is a good fighter, but only good I think against Hagler he would have got knocked out.

In Roy Jones Jnr's first fight after the BALCO scandal broke in September 2003, Roy Jones received a hard earned and extremely close decision over Antonio Tarver. ThatÂ’s the fight in which Joe Calzaghe made the comment that Jones looked human for a change.
Pre September 2003, Roy Jones was 'superhuman', sub September 2003 Roy Jones was almost ordinary.

Can you tell me if you are comparing Joe Calzaghe to a Roy Jones pre September 2003 or post September 2003.
I am not saying there is a connection between BALCO and Roy, I will let other people decide that for themselves, but Roys decline coincided with BALCO being closed down.

Joe Calzaghe would have had his hands full with Roy Jones up until September 2003.

Joe Calzaghe beats Roy Jones any time after September 2003.

Top line - Yes he is, he was consensus p4p no3 before retiring at age 36, dont let your dislike of the guy blind you completely.

Next line - Most thought Calzaghe won, where have you been for a year ?

When they use the term "Slappy" I automatically render their response a waste of my eyes and time.

What Calzaghe fights did you watch on youtube ?, if you watched Calzaghe before his hand injuries you would have seen a very skilled, slick operator.

Ive been watching you tube vids.
****ing says it all really. You my friend are an arm chair fan and your thoughts on the matter are nill and void.
For the record Jones prime was very beatable but he never exactly gave himself the toughest fights did he. (A bit like Calzaghe).
I think Jones would have won by UD but you cant rule Calzaghe out as jones never fought anyone even close to his hand speed like Calzaghe and Calzaghe could actually bang back then.
21 of his first pro fights he won by KO before his hand problems. A stat over looked by the haters.
Oh and it is well known that he had the fight with Jones for the MONEY not the glory.
I saw before the Kessler fight and he said he was having 2 more money fights after Kessler and then quiting. Which is exactly what he did.
So he never ducked Dawson or Pavlic or anyone for that matter he just quit like he said he would.
