Prime Roy had a style that no one dared to figure out. Then Tarver came along and showed the world how to beat Roy.

It wasn't about the PEDS, he didn't get old overnight, his style got studied, and a solution to it was discovered. Roy had a good run, but most fighters today have the training to fight a guy like Roy, so I would give Kovalev a decent chance.

jones runs rings around ko4clev, but runs into trouble more than once on the ropes.

whilst you cant discount him catching up with roy at some point, jones is really too fast and too accurate to not grind out a sniper like points decision.

If that was true, Tarver would have beaten him the first time of asking, when Roy was absolutely exhausted, and running on fumes for the last three rounds.

Prime Roy at 25/26, was a different fighter to the one that Tarver and Johnson fought.

That was the only fight I can recall that Jones was willing take punches to give punches. He did get hit with couple good punches by Griffin, but was only moving forward in that fight. When Jones knocked Griffin back into the ropes, Jones started walking right at him. Not typical Jones behaviour. Not the Jones you would ever pick in a fantasy match-up.

In their first fight, I though the right hand was Jones best weapon. Nailed him in the first round, and it was the right that hurt him later in the fight. Jones came into the second fight throwing what seemed to be all left hooks. Griffin had reason to be concerned with the hook and ended up leaving himself open for that uppercut.
