Thank **** this fight could never happen when RJJ was in his prime. RJJ was unbeatable when he was in his prime.

Clinton Woods was a pretty good fighter and above all, had a good defence. Froch has one of the worst defenses of an elite fighter and uses his chin to carry him through fights. Against RJJ, his come at you style would be suicide against RJJ. Couple that with his slow hand speed, he would touch RJJ. This is coming from a guy that likes Froch and RJJ.

He was an accumulation sort of fighter but when he was in the mood, he had very good punching power as shown in the revenge match up against Griffin. I remember an interview he had about this and he said that he really wanted to knock him out after what happened. He said he put a lot more into his punches in that fight, as shown below.

Of course Jones would have won but I don't see Jones getting a KO in 2 or 3 rounds like many are saying. Jones wasn't that much of a risk taker in there to go all out and get the KO, he would have pot shotted him all night long.

Plenty of fighters with worse chins than Froch and less talented went the distance with Jones.

What's the matter, did Groves beat up your hero?

That says more about Froch's chin rather than Grove's power. Not like it's a secret that Froch has got a granite chin.

If you got hit by that Groves shot that put Froch down in the 1st, you'd be still catching zeds now, making snoring noises like how James Toney speaks. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzz snort snort.

This is a boxing forum, full of people who've posted thousands of times on their favourite sport.... So much attention must be paid to watching it... debating it...

And so many people think RJJ would KO Froch....

    Inside 3-4 rounds.....

    12 round shut out, yes.

    3rd round KO? Please...

Its hard to gauge this as it wasn't RJJs style to go for the KO. He preferred sitting back and do constant damage. Groves in contrast plants his feet more and goes for more power and a KO. Not sure about Froch being steady on his legs against Groves for most of the fight, but it was Froch's sheer determination that took him through that fight. He was wobbling around on a number of occasions against Groves.

RJJ had insane reflexes and was extremely difficult to hit, even until the end of a full 12 rounds. Froch was getting some success against Groves and this is what stopped Groves throwing even more shots. Against RJJ, Froch wouldn't lay a glove and the punishment would be relentless. Froch isn't ironman, he is a human being, after a while even he would be stopped and RJJ would be a very good candidate for this.

Lazarus, like you say, Jones wouldn't look for the KO like he would need to in order to do enough damage to warrant a stoppage. You could apply the same logic to many fighters to who he was on a different physical plane, yet didn't finish.

Froch is a leaden footed, pedestrian fighter with A granite chin and great conditioning. He'd be outclassed for 12 rounds. But not stopped. Stylistically I can replay that imaginary matchup a 100 times in my head and can't see it happeneing.

I can't see Froch landing a single clean shot either.
