how am I playing with words, you obviously didn't read what I wrote.

and as for your example, that's a pretty pathetic, Tyson would never have been knocked down by a bum like banks in the first place.

    Are you sure about this?

Most fights were scored on a rounds basis at this time in New York.

Marciano would find this version of Tyson easy to hit and low on ambition .If Mike can't catch him early he gets mauled and quits mid rnds.

    Exactly this^

People are acting as though this version of Tyson was still prime, whereas I feel Tyson was greatly diminished from his heyday. There are few fighters that exhibit a greater slump in form from their absolute peak to a "past the sell by date" version than Tyson. All the sharpness, the peekaboo, the accuracy and speed ... straight in the trashcan. He'd become a powerful brawler with a good chin and a big punch. These types are dime a dozen in boxing.

Marciano didn't slip very much from his prime. What he lost in youth and athleticism, he made up with much improved ring craft. And most importantly, the deciding factor between these two versions, is that Rocky still had the

in his belly whereas Mike was there for a payday, and maybe to win, if he could.

    I said Rocky on points.

But the more I think about it, I'm wrong. I actually think he stops old Tyson.

You were wrong. You said ali never got up to win a fight he was losing. What would you call being dropped and coming back to win you idiot?

-Wasnt rocky dropped by walcott and behind on every card before winning? Wasnt he dropped by moore and getting shooled before he won?

-wasnt joe louis dropped by buddy baer and came back to stop him? And galento?

-wasnt foreman dropped by lyle twice and then destroyed him in a thrillig brawl?

-wasnt dempsey knocked out the ring by firpo and then demolished him?

-was tunney dropped by dempsey and then took over and won?

    -...holmes vs shavers...?

-even wladmir freaking klitschko got up against samuel peter and won.

Why give tyson a pass when nearly every great champion got off the floor to win?

Tyson was in his prime, like it or not, against a lazy journeyman buster douglass who dropped him. He stayed down. I cant imagine ali or holmes or bowe failing to get up against that clown.

This isnt rocket science. Ali was dropped in the FIRST round. Going into the second was he or was he not behind?

Tyson at his best would wreck Marciano at his best hands down.

    2000 Tyson?

that version of Mike might be vulnerable enough for a Prime Marciano to take advantage of.
