What would the outcome be off all these fights, how would Roy do against all of todays current champs??? Middleweight Arthur Abraham Felix Sturm Kelly Pavlik Super Middleweight Joe Calzaghe Anthony Mundine Lucian Bute Light Heavyweight Chad Dawson Bernard Hopkins Zsolt Erdei Heavyweight Wlad Klitskho Oleg Maskaev Sam Peters Ruslan Chagaev
Jones win all the fights upto heavyweight with calzaghe being the hardest, then gets koed by wlad and maybe maskaev, beaten on points by chagaev and out boxes peter.
beats everyone but the heavy's....all the heavy guys might be able to handle jones' power to well at heavy, and Im not to sure if jones could handle theirs....but he could WIPE anyone els
Why did you put Mundine insted of Kessler? Kessler beat Mundine in hiw own country and is a amore talented boxer. However, RJJ still beats Kessler and all the others up to heavyweight
What would the outcome be off all these fights, how would Roy do against all of todays current champs??? Middleweight Roy Jones Jr TKO 8 Arthur Abraham Roy Jones Jr KO5 Felix Sturm Roy Jones Jr KO9 Kelly Pavlik Super Middleweight Roy Jones Jr UD12 Joe Calzaghe 116-112 Roy Jones Jr KO4 Anthony Mundine Roy Jones Jr TKO9 Lucian Bute Light Heavyweight Roy Jones Jr KO9 Chad Dawson Roy Jones Jr UD12 Bernard Hopkins 120-108/120-107 I can see a knock down or two Roy JonesJr UD12 Zsolt Erdei 118-110 Heavyweight Gets KO'd by them all but could beat any of them by descison bar Wlad.
Middleweight Arthur Abraham - Jones UD or KO in late rounds. Abraham isn't going to be able to handle the angles or footspeed of Jones. Abraham brings power, but not the accuracy and speed to hit Jones. Felix Sturm- Jones blows him out. No power to keep Jones honest, and his jab, while good, is not going to hit Jones frequently enough and isn't fast enough to keep Jones honest. Kelly Pavlik- Jones by KO or easy UD. Pavlik has the power to stop Jones, but as Taylor just showed, a fighter with angles AND stamina along with even more power would most likely stop him. Pavlik is top notch for a basic fighter with no elite level skills, but he doesn't do what he does well enough to beat Jones. Abraham matches up better. Super Middleweight Joe Calzaghe- Jones by UD. We have discussed this enough to know that it would be a good fight. But Calzaghe stands straight up too often and Jones would hit him with straight rights all night. Calzaghe's great workrate would diminish due to missing Jones enough to annoy him and getting countered in exchanges. Anthony Mundine- Jones blows him out by early KO for even trying to emulate his style. Nothing Mundine has would be useful in this matchup. Lucian Bute- Bute would be more interesting than Mundine, but he at this point, is not prime. Jones would stop him late. Light Heavyweight Chad Dawson- Second most interesting battle of this whole scenario IMO. Not because Dawson is better than everyone else, but because he is a tall rangy boxer, who is a southpaw. Dawson is quick enough to keep Jones honest, has a good enough jab with foot movement to make Jones wary. That said, Jones has more power even at LHW than Dawson does, and keeps Dawson even more honest. He would be him by close UD. Dawson is not prime yet either. Bernard Hopkins- We already saw this. Yes, Hopkins wasn't as smart then as he is now, but isn't as athletic now as he was then to keep up with Jones. And Jones wasn't prime either. Hopkins gets you to fight his fight....so does Jones. Neither would alter their style and Jones would pot shot his way to a UD like last time. Hopkins can counter him a bit, but Jones would do the same right back but more often. Zsolt Erdei- This isn't that good of a fight. Jones by UD. He does nothing that Jones can't counter and is too straight up. Heavyweight Wlad Klitskho- Klitshco would catcth Jones because he wouldn't be concerned about being hit back. Wlad by KO early. Oleg Maskaev- Maskaev is easy to hit, fairly straight up with little angle. He has decent handspeed though and good power. Jones would get caught on the way out and stopped. Oleg by KO mid rounds, if not early. Sam Peters- Peters could be beaten by Jones. Great power yes. He may never land, and I mean that honestly. He would hit Jones, but not sharply or flush. If he did, he would stop Jones. This isn't about how good Peters is, but how bad his deficiencies fit Jones style. Jones by UD Ruslan Chagaev- Chagaev has too many angles and too much speed. Jones would be faster but would get caught by the mid rounds and stopped.
I am not sure he would try.....seems risky IMO. Dawson is a better version of Tarver, and while Jones would have stopped Tarver earlier on in his career because Tarver takes too many wild shots, Dawson wouldn't do that. It's why I don't think Jones would try either.
Or gets sparked. Haye is a bit too easy to hit. It would be a toss up. I think Jirov would have given Jones more trouble.
Credible predictions there! Why UD against Erdi? You give him to much credit. RJJ would KO him in Round 10 IMO
I think that Dawson is there to be hurt actually. Good offensive skills, but: 1. This is not the best Dawson we will see and 2. I dont think he would react very well to being hit frequently. Depends again what Roy's attitude would be going into the fight and how seriously he took Dawson. If he took Dawson seriously and went out and tried to stop him. I think he would.
Haye fights in a similar way to RJJ, but without RJJ speed but Haye has more power. If RJJ concentrated and remained elusive he could pick Haye of but if he tried to block shots on the ropes like he did against Glen Johnosn and Tarver HAYES POWER WOULD PUT him out COLD!
mid-late TKO Arthur Abraham (too easy to hit and his stamina is bad) early TKO Felix Sturm early TKO Kelly Pavlik / Taylor wide UD Joe Calzaghe (or late TKO if Calzaghe goes all out for the KO desperately in the final rounds and ignores defense completely) early TKO Anthony Mundine late TKO Lucian Bute (unless he has a great chin/toughness that we haven't seen) early-mid TKO Chad Dawson wide UD Bernard Hopkins mid-late TKO Zsolt Erdei early TKO David Haye / Maccarinelli I could see him beating some of the HW's, but they're tossup matches. Jones was that damn good.
