srr would be undefeated too if he went through his resume as PRIME....

im a big fan off rjj but it wont be a sure thing being undefeated as srr was fighting 15 rounders and sometimes 2-3 fights a month......

I don't think anyone on Robinson's resume including himself beat 160-168 Roy H2H.

But in a p4p sense, I think it would be highly unlikely that Roy could fight that many times that often and not pick up some losses.

Does "Prime Roy" somehow hold some Superman-esque ability to stay "Prime Roy" for over 20 years fighting HOF-caliber fighters 3-4 times as frequently?

C'mon man. Roy couldn't make it more than 15 years with the guys he did face before he was faded and getting knocked out routinely. And I like Roy, so don't construe that as hating. That's just the bar Robinson set. Nobody goes through the insane resumes of the old timers unbeaten, that's a big reason guys don't try it anymore! It's prettier and more profitable to maintain that 25-0, 30-0 than it is to go 75-6 the hard way.

You should know that many of those opponents would be welters/middleweights

    Roy was a smw/lhw.

If he could just come in the ring at 175 for every fight he would blaze through SRR his resume.
It's stupid to compare a welter with a smw.

I figured the only fair way to project it would be to have a 160 Roy since that's the only class the two each have a decent amount of work in.

look MR, i like you, you seem like a level headed guy who knows what he's talking about. you come off looking fair. i have no problem with that. but when it comes to Jones, you got to admit, you do get sensitive. now if it was lies being spread, then yeah, fight back with the truth. but if it's not, then you'll just have to accept it.

i'm the same when it comes to Calzaghe. if it's true, then no problem. but when people are constantly wrong and spreading ****, then i'll defend the position.

Mikkell Kessler is one of my favorite fighters, but i will never deny that he turned a fight with Bute down when there was great money on the table. it's true. so if people call him a ducker in that situation, then they are entitled to do so. because as i say, it's the truth.

    1) i'm not a hater. i'm actually a fan of Jones. i'm more of a fan of the truth though. everything i wrote was the truth.

    2) i do give credit to Jones for the Toney win, but not as much as i would have had Toney been making weight properly. that's what put a dampener on the fight for me back then. it was a great performance and a very good win. but you know that Toney was up and down at that point. it was years before he was relevant again after that. do you agree?

    3) great performance from Jones in the Ruiz fight. very good win. i've always said that. i won't take that away from him. but when he was talking about what he was going to be doing at heavyweight, i knew it was just a load of crap. he never had any intention of fighting those guys. it was predictably going to be Ruiz. he could of fought Byrd in a unification of the IBF/WBA belts. that would of been a good fight, but it was too much of a risk for him. Bryd was a small heavy as well.

    4) nobody asked Jones to move to heavy then move down. that was his decision. i'm not going to give credit for that. Tarver was a good fighter, but lets not pretend he was anything more. plus, i had Tarver winning the fight. he was ripped off. Jones showed heart, i agree, but like i said, he made the decision to move up then down, nobody else.

as i say, that was Jones all over. i'm not going to be blinded from the truth just because i'm a fan of a certain fighter. that's just silly. i know you don't like it but, it is what it is.

continue to call me a hater if it makes you feel better. :good

Its possibly the fact that they are sick of the typical big mouthed, pea brained, arrogant, bullshitting ******s that America exports in much the same way New Zealand exports lamb.

So Jones and the myth that surrounds him is as boring if not more so than the kind of **** that John Wayne, and George Patton single handedly killed all the Injuns, and won the second world war respectively.

Just an educated guess on my part.

Considering Roy is the much bigger guy, he might have beaten a lot of Ray's competition. Roy turned pro at 154 where as SRR turned pro at 134 1/2. Roy's best weight was 168 and Robinson's was 147. Stupid thread from a half ass boxing fan who clearly DKSAB!

SRR > Everyone else in boxing history.
