How would a prime Roy do against today's top fighters at 160, 168 and 175? I'm talking about Golovkin, Charlo, Canelo, Benavidez, Beterbiev and Bivol. I say Roy beats all of them, and loses maybe 3 rounds COMBINED.
Bivol has a better jab than anyone Roy fought and would certainly win at least three rounds, Canelo is less skilled than Bivol and a lot smaller than Roy so would struggle more than Bivol but he could certainly win three rounds v Roy, Benavidez is bigger than most people Roy so he could beat him, GGG would have beat Roy and if none of these guys beat Roy then he at least will lose more than three rounds fighting all of them. He`s probably be too quick for Beterbiev and Charlo.
Beats them all. Most difficult fight to pick would be against Canelo but even then, like yourself, I only think he loses 2-4 rounds.
RJJ wins all three easily. Beterbiev, who is levels below both Golovkin and Alvarez as far as skill goes, has no shot. He is slow and unlikely to win a round against a prime Roy Jones. Alvarez may win a round or two but is too small and would most likely be knocked out. Golovkin may go the distance but if wins more than three rounds I would be surprised. Jones "struggled" more with slick boxers like Hopkins and Toney. A boxer like Bivol may have the best chance of winning more than a few rounds but he would have to find a way to hit Jones with some regularity. That was not an easy task. Of course, even during his prime Jones lost some rounds during his fights. That being said, there were 13 title defenses where every single round was scored for Jones by every judge. This does not mean all the fights went the distance but some did.
