    Bivol KO obviously.

ROID Jones would have a much better chance of avoiding getting KTFO.

I love how posters always try to ignore the giant elephant in the room in threads on Roy Jones, Jr Fantasy Fights.

I'm probably the biggest RJjr fan on here but I just don't know. I think that if the men were the same size that Roy would win but I don't think that Roy was ever a real light heavyweight to be honest. This is something that was pretty much on display with Roy weighing in at 169½ for his fight vs Felix Trinidad which took place long after he lost his first fight vs Tarver.

In his prime, that's all Roy needed to school Hopkins, Toney and everyone else.

Roy in his pomp should've worn a cape in the ring - he was that damn good.

He is the clear pick in this one.

Maybe you are right. I saw Roy beat some great fighters (James Toney!) and saw him fight a lot of bums. No denying Roy’s talents. I may be selling him short because he was great. I’m not sure he was at his best at 175. Bivol is a great LH and is tougher than most people give him credit for. Look at how easily he dismantled Canelo.

Bivol hasn't had a stoppage win in 5 years, and has a modest 11 stoppages out of 21 wins yet he stops a prime RJJ ?

RJJ is on another level to Bivol his high defence/jab style wouldn't vs effective vs RJJ's blazing speed/athleticism.

Bivol is real good. But people focus on Roy Jones' back half of his career and not the first 15 years as a professional and his first 50ish fights. Jones UD.

Hopkins, Toney and that lot was a lot slower than Bivol.

True and at the time I was loving it and drinking the Kool Aid. A buddy of mine that boxes said to pay attention. Told me he was used to doing everything out of whack because of his speed and athleticism and that it would come back to bite him. Lo and behold as soon as he slowed a bit…..

I also think Bivol is a special fighter and has campaigned exclusively at light heavyweight. Light heavy was jones 3rd weight class.
    Hopkins win was good.
I wish the Toney fight had been at 175 as Toney at 168 looked flat AF.

For the record I’m not saying Jones can’t win. It would be crazy to say something like that. However I think Bivol would win this.

I kinda liken it to Hamed v Barrera.
Not that any of them fight remotely the same just how it would play out.

Jones would flash speed and crazy angles but Bivol would use superior footwork and angles and fundamentals and pull ahead.

woulda been a bit closer than Hamed Barrera

    say 116/112
    Or 115/113 in Bivols favor.

Fixed a glaring typo lol. Y’all musta forgot….
    I’m getting old…..

This is a kind of unstoppable force vs immovable object type matchup for me

How ANYONE could back against prime RJJ in his pomp is tough to fathom - who else had the IQ and athleticism to SHUTOUT James Toney?

On the other hand, I also think Bivol is a special fighter and we still haven't seen his ceiling and top gear yet (get the Beterbiev fight made!!!).

Bivol has his fundamentals shined to a blinding polish, is ice-cold and makes next to no mistakes in his fights and is always at his optimum distance, perfectly fluid.

This is a tough one for me - I'd have to pick RJJ based on pure peak ability, but think Bivol has the potential to nullify and frustrate peak Roy too.

    Mouth-watering prospect!
