John Henry Lewis was half blind and Joe Louis was his friend and gave him one last final payday as they both knew Lewis's career was over.

Are you're suggesting that version of Lewis is comparable to a prime RJJ ? Because if you are that is absolutely baffling.

I have John Henry Lewis as my LHW GOAT.

There is no shame whatsoever in getting taken out in 1 round by Louis. Schmeling beat Louis and the same happened to him in the rematch.

Lewis retired before his 25th birthday. He was 53-3-1 after winning the LHW belt. Before Louis, JHL's only unavenged non DQ loss was his pro debut when he was 14 years old. Buster Grant didn't even suck he was 9-3-3 and drew Siki.

This might be the only filmed fight that'll need a gore warning before starting
