If David was confident and aggressive, then you’d have had to have favoured him big.

    I’m not 100% sure though.

David had huge respect for Roy, and he tried to mimic his style.

I could envisage a scenario where he’d have been very cautious.

So I’d have given the Ruiz version of Roy a chance.

David would obviously have been the clear favourite though.

I would have loved Toney to have fought Haye at CW.

    That would have been great.

Haye. Too much power for that China chin of Roy’s. Those same shots Haye hit Wlad that he was able to shake off would have had Roy in all sorts of trouble. And Haye was a good finisher.

Back and forth fight with Roy getting the better of it for the first few rounds until Haye catches up to him.

Gaye gets his **** but he was athletically gifted & explosive.. he'd spark Jones .. quick, powerful & significantly bigger too.. I watched the Jones Ruiz fight a few days ago and I was surprised how many times Roy actually got hit in that fight even tho u could see them coming a mile off.. and Ruiz was very slow and immobile..

On a related note, I asked CHATGPT:

Is the nickname Roid Jones for Roy Jones based on something that happened?

Yes, the nickname "Roid Jones" for Roy Jones Jr. is based on a specific incident in his career. In 2000, Jones was scheduled to fight Richard Hall, but the fight was called off after Jones tested positive for the anabolic steroid, androstenedione.

The use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) is considered a serious violation of the rules in boxing, and the positive test raised questions about whether Jones had used PEDs in previous fights. The nickname "Roid Jones" was coined by some boxing fans and commentators as a reference to the positive test and the suspicion of PED use.

Jones has denied using PEDs intentionally and has stated that he took androstenedione as a legal over-the-counter supplement. However, the incident has been a subject of controversy and debate in the boxing community, and the nickname "Roid Jones" has stuck with him throughout his career.

    LOL.

Haye would Shatter Roy’s Glass Jaw at Cruiserweight or Heavyweight. Compare Jones cautious boring fight with Ruiz to what Haye did to Ruiz. Haye was only cautious when fighting the much bigger Heavyweights something Glass Jaw Reluctant Roy never tried to do.

Haye by KO. He’s almost as fast, but if Jones move up, their speed would be similar.

Haye is a vicious puncher at cruiser, so if anything lands, Jones is going to sleep.
