Jones mucks about for a few rounds, taking the **** out of Calzaghe; he turns things on about round four and takes slappy out sometime in the 6th.

    Something like that.:D

    Jones definitely wins.

    :rofl :rofl

The same Trinidad who hadnt fought in 3 years, hadnt won in 4, was at least 6 years and 20 pounds above his best and could barely make the weight for that fight, which was the heaviest of his career.

Roy has some of his handspeed but the reflexes, the legs, the movement and the confidence of a Prime Roy have long gone.

joe doesn't take the fight because the local authorities cannot guarantee that he will not be put up for manslaughter once the bout is over.

Jones by comfy UD in a very boring, tactical fight. But I have no doubts whatsoever that Calzaghe gives Jones a significantlty tougher time than either Toney or Hopkins ever did.

Alot of people forget that prime calzaghe had a bit of power in his punches, especially his big looping left hand over the top. For me Calzaghe would have taken it by UD, I think he has the better chin, workrate and awkwardness going for him, aswell as his often overlooked defensive sway

If Calzaghe approached a prime RJJ, with the intention of thowing that amount of punches, he would be discouraged very quickly. Roy is faster, has venom on every punch, is elusive as hell thanks to extraordinary agility and spped of foot. Calzaghe would come to fight and would take 2-3 rounds off RJJ with a couple of for question, but this would end in a comfy win for RJJ. When all is done and suted with this fight, JC would of been lucky to throw 600 punches in the fight.

Did you just suggest that Jones would have lost to Glen Johnson in his prime :huh

As for Jones V Calslappy it all depends on whether Roy played basketball that day or not. If he had then Calslappy goes 8 rounds, if he hadn't then he'd be out of there in 4.

Prime McClellan is a nightmare matchup for Calzaghe IMHO - he's like a superior version of Byron Mitchell with a granite chin. McClellan has a great chance to KO prime Calzaghe.

Most likely McClellan hurts and / or floors Calzaghe early. Joe tries to come back and lands some flurries but eventually punches himself out. McClellan KOs Calzaghe around the 5th (KO much like the 1st Julian Jackson fight).

Calzaghe's pride and fighting heart work against him here; he could outbox McClellan but gets drawn in to a 'tear up'. Calzaghe is great but he's not Nigel Benn.

As you say if he gets brought into a tear up its over, but if joe gets past the 5th he wins on points. Gman tires badly.

Fair analysis, but I think Joe could definitely win a couple of rounds.
