The Jones who fought Calzaghe was a shell of his former self. His reflexes were shot (never the same since he came down from heavyweight to fight Tarver) and his mentality was never the same after back to back KO's by Tarver and Johnson.

A prime Roy was a marvel to watch, while Calzaghe isn't the greatest to watch you must admire his pucnh input and his stamina.

    Who wins and why???

Prime Roy would smash his way through offensively and avoid his flood of ***** slaps defensively. And do it in convincing fashion.

Roy would be clowning and Calzaghe would be frowning. Roy by a wide UD.

RJJ hits JC everywhere except the soles of his feet. A landslide points win for RJJ with JC lucky to win 3 rounds

WHat happened to Calzaghe in the first would repeat itself in a few other rounds. Jones by Ko or wide decision.

Got to go with the consensus here. Prime Jones too much for Joe.

Jones was everything Calzaghe was except better and more.

Jones was faster of hand and foot, in better shape, physically stronger, far more powerful, had a better defence, had better skills, had better punching technique, had better combination punching ability, was a far more accurate puncher, was a better all-round ring general, had better movement...

    Need I go on??

This fight would be far more one-sided than most people think IMO. The smw Jones would find it hard not to connect cleanly with Calzaghe's static head every time he threw a punch, and would be too hard for Joe to pin down in order to land his little flurries.

Calzaghe would struggle to win a round en route to a TKO defeat around the 7th or 8th. The shots bouncing off his skull all night would not be the punches of Kabary Salem or Old Man River B-Hop so Joe's chin would not get him through this one. His sloppy defence would be his downfall.
