what weights are we talking here. don't think anyone thinks 160 is where we saw roy in top form.

prime hagler was great at cutting off the ring and timing his jab as to disrupt his opponent's rhythm, using his long arms

i think hes just too well schooled and tough, he'd work his way inside and had the chin to take jones' best shots

it'd be close but i don't think jones was experienced enough at mw to withstand hagler's relentless will to win and skill

I respect Hagler but a young RJJ and 160 would have outboxed him. If Leonard stole rounds with flurrys, Jones would have as well and possibly hurt Hagler too because he had some serious power at 160

Tough match up,personally I think not many boxers in history can beat a PRIME Rjj...but in a 15 rounds matchup Hagler is one of them who could pull it off

Prime Hagler was a relentless beast, and Roy although gifted, didn't like to fight.Hagler would walk him down and eventually start to unload.I don't think i'd be speaking out of turn if i described prime Hagler as unbeatable, the ultimate pugilist.

i dont see roy winnin a 15 rounder tiwh him though.

i think it depends on wether its a 12 or 15 round fight. since were talking about fighters from 2 different eras

Hagler is my all-time favorite fighter, but I have to agree with this.

There was no one quite as fast/defensive as Roy in Hagler's era. RJJ would very likely get a UD. If he foolishly tried to engage, though, Hagler would moida' him. Marvin didn't wast punches, and his connect-percentage was insanely high. Plus, I think he was stronger than Roy.
