Pure drivel. A prime Jones would stand the kid on his head. I rate Kov, dude is an absolute bear of a fighter but we are talking about a Prime Roy Jones here.

Kovalev is packing plenty glass himself.:deal

    RJJ has fought more punchers.

Kovalev's resume is filled with feather-dusters..

In my opinion, Roy's absolute peak was at SMW.

He was still awesome at LHW as well.

At this stage, I think Roy would definitely have been favoured over Kov.

    That's fair enough.

I agree. It wouldn't have been a shock. But the fact that we're both not certain of what may have happened, just goes to show you how underappreciated Roy's win is over him.

Not necessarily, but I respect your opinion.

    You've made some good points.

I've yet to study Lloyd Marshall, but I've heard a lot about him.

I'll admit that I haven't seen an awful lot of Dariusz's career, but from what I have seen, I don't think Roy would have too much trouble with him at his very best.

He didn't carefully manoeuvre his way through the divisions.

This has been debunked time and again.

Let's look at who he fought:

Toney: Considered by many as the 2nd best fighter in the world at the time.

    Ruiz: A top 5 HW.

Tarver: Considered the best LHW contender at the time.

Calzaghe: An elite fighter who was on the P4P list.

Lebedev: Considered one of the best CW's in the world at the time.

What was careful about taking those fights?

Now let's look at some of the guys he tried to fight:

    Liles

    Evander

    Dariusz

    Hopkins

    You've seen the links.

    Run along hater.

At 230 pounds, John Ruiz was a big puncher to Roy, who was a 34 year old LHW.

He hit damn harder than guys like Tarver and Johnson at LHW.

You just don't get it. It's beyond you. Ruiz's HW stats don't come in to play here. Any guy who could drop Evander was a dangerous opponent to Roy.

Give him some credit. You can't keep referring to him as a glass jawed joke, whilst ignoring the fact that he easily dominated Ruiz, even though he'd fought as a JMW in the previous decade.

You have to be one of the most ignorant posters I've ever debated with.

You refuse to acknowledge all evidence put forward, and then come back to type the same old hate.

    READ CAREFULLY:

Evander's attorney of 13 years, says that Roy tried to fight Evander on 2 occasions. But I guess that you know more than him, right?

Kerry Davis of HBO, is on record stating that he did all he could to try and land the network the Dariusz fight in the U.S.

Roy did not refuse the fight. He only refused to go to Germany.

    :hi:
