Joe would fight his way out of trouble when dropped or hurt, most fighters run or hold on for dear life in same scenario. Many others these days run and hold on for dear life at every given opportunity even when they're not hurt as a precautionary measure to prevent their opponents from hitting them. :patsch

This is kind of a tricky one for me to be honest..

I am not sure a clean shot would have hurt Calzaghe any less, possibly it could have been even worse.

that's when hes defending against subdomestic weaklings. which to be fair, was almost all the time. and in those cases he'd still get the ref to stop it for no reason, most of the time.

    Ha!

I won't ever forget this mate.

I went to click on the link, and I thought to myself, this is either a picture of a stunning woman, or Serge is on the wind up, and it's a photo of Roy flexing his muscles, like after the Griffin and Ruiz fights.

    I couldn't believe it!

I hope nobody else has clicked on the link.

I might send them Assassin to look at.

    Ha!

    Brilliant!

I'm going away on holiday tomorrow, so I'll catch up with you when I get back.

    :good

It really is amazing, Calzaghe himself said he didn't want to fight prime Jones because he knew his limitations, didn't want tough fights, would need the crown jewels and basically didn't fancy his chances. Yet his idiot fans still think there is a debate to be had on who would win.

It's a shame Calzaghe didn't have the same confidence in his abilities that his deluded fans do. If he did he could have moved up in weight, gone to the States to make a name for himself, got the Jones fight and then duly been outclassed and knocked out and we would have to have this "debate" today.

no if zags had gone to states early he would have a string of losses to his name not good for a man who lives on his excusively on a zero and Kessler.

hell even Byron would fair odds have beat joe in America, that may wellhave been a loss without joe's cheat ref.

So no it is definitely not a good idea to go to America, he did the right thing in continuing to lie about his fear of flying for a decade until the greats were turning 40something, since his fanboys sucked up his lies without question.

Which "prime Jones" are we talking about. Regular Roy Jones or Roid Jones?

Doesn't matter, Joe's workrate and southpaw stance is too much.

    116- 112 Calzaghe.

Joe is not a public city worker.

Fear of flying? Hopkins was and still is scared of Joe. He tried his best with his judges and a crooked ref, but still lost bad. If it wasn't for his "ACTING" job, he most likely would of been stopped on pure pressure and volume:deal.

Neither was Bernard Hopkins or James Toney, and neither was Antonio Tarver, a world class southpaw that Joe had absolutely no intrest in fighting...

That would be a nice thing to add to Joe's resume, he doesn't have one victory over a world class southpaw.

There's no way of knowing. A past prime Calzaghe whose punch resistance was not what it once was got caught with an illegal shot. Hardly fair to hold that against him.
