Not sure how Toney and Hopkins mean anything to this debate. Both were defensive boxers, tailer made for RRJ

Joe was a high volume, fast, accurate, iron chinned force.
Joe would have beaten both Toney and Prime Hopkins.

RJJ woulnd't have time to do anything beside run and counter.
He woulnd't be beating Joe on points that's for sure.
If he traded with Joe, he would get knocked out due to his suspect chin.

Collins' high volume would have given RJJ nightmares also, its why he avoided him.

why, when joes punches are so inaccurate, how does he get ahead on points? the reason he got ahead of old Hopkins is because Hopkins slowed to a halt due to lack of lungs at his age. It was categorically NOT because Joe was accurate, he was missing and getting hit until old Hopkins gassed. Prime roy doesn't gass.

why does volume beat a skilled boxer when most of the volume is missing its target?

Joe has no power to do that. he couldn't knock out defenceless crippled old jones given every advantage to him.

Calzaghe is the definition of a boxer with little power.

Hopkins defense now is much better than Prime RRJ's
Hopkins hides in his shell, prime Roy left his chin open.
A chin Joe would hit whenever he got up close.

"why does volume beat a skilled boxer when most of the volume is missing its target?"
Because even if he missed 3/4's of his punches in 1 round it still adds up to more connected punches RJJ would have thrown.
Joe would be throwing 100+ punches a round in his prime to RJJ's 10-20 per round.
If 1/4 of Joes punches hit, that's 25 connected.
RJJ's low volume would make him lose rounds.

"Joe has no power to do that. he couldn't knock out defenceless crippled old jones given every advantage to him.

Fine, if he decided to trade with Joe his face would get mashed up worse than it was in their fight.
Don't tell me his skin resistance was better back than.

Saying "Roy Jones would have beaten Calzaghe in his Prime "is like saying "George Foreman punches hurt ".

We are very aware of that

pint point accuracy doesn't lose rounds outside Cardiff. joe barely touches prime roy, way too fast and evasive.

anyone decent can beat up old roy, what point are you making? you aren't making one. I see.

Back in the day, Roy had genuine one punch KO power. He knocked out Tate, who went the distance with Julian Jackson, and Malinga, who went the distance with Benn.

Anybody in their right mind would know that Jones would hammer Calzaghe in their primes.

I clicked on the link and have my Roy Jones DVDs out on the dining room table.

My wife was watching Eastenders when she saw the Photo.
I was hovering over the close window button but she still saw the photos.

    I was NOT expecting that!!

Roy was too busy fighting garbage men, cops, and Amazon.com workers to fight Joe in his prime.

There's no way Joe would have gotten in the ring against a peak version of Roy.

But why would Roy have ducked him, if it made sense?

He fought him when he was past his best, at almost 40.

So why would he have ducked him when he was younger?
