Terrible style matchup for Ruiz. Ruiz gets caught coming in and probably stopped. I like Ruiz more than most but he had trouble with speed and athleticism he did very well against uncoordinated big men and ordinary heavyweights but his front foot heavyness and reliance on clinching make him easy pickings for an athletic fighter who can take that step back and nail him coming in. Ruiz power is badly underrated by the way. He could catch Wilder as well
Actually could be a really interesting matchup…I would give him a good shot vs Wilder or AJ, More so Wilder though. He could KO either or it could be a 17 second ko loss in Tua fashion…
wilders peak performance is gassing out a 40 yr old man, so far. trouble is, ruiz best is arguably the same! i would go with ruiz by boring SD
I'd probably have to go with Wilder. Ruiz was THAT bad - a clubfighter, basically, who only got into the rankings and "won" a title through the influence of Don King. And his whiskers weren't the greatest either, which is why he had to violate the rules against excessive holding and engaged in other chicanery like faking low blows to avoid getting stopped. Of course, if Wilder happens to hit him with a body shot and put him on the canvas, like Thunder, Holyfield and Johnson did, then you would have to expect Ruiz to deliver one of his ham acting jobs to get the bogus low blow call. But unless there's corruption, I don't see how that talentless fraud could win.
Bad style match up for the Quietman. Ruiz's track record shows he does not do well against big shock style one punch power. Wilder is sloppy, but he can bang. He's got that reach too so he can deliver a big shot before Ruiz comes in for the jab and grab. On the other hand, Ruiz is a Pimp. I changed my mind, Ruiz wins via strong pimp hand.
