Yes. Castillo did better against Arguello before the KO than he did against Sanchez.

I don’t think there was anything easy about Sal’s win. I don’t go along with Castillo’s claims that he was robbed but Sanchez had to chop into a deficit. Castillo’s speed and movement gave him issues early and Sanchez won by about 2-3 rounds tops.

I actually think the Arguello at 126 would fall just short. He would have a hard time pinning Sanchez down and Sanchez having the edge in foot speed and volume would edge it by the thinnest of margins. Arguello peaked at 130 IMO and it’s pure speculation to assume how Sal would do there. I’m sure it’s still a dead close fight.

I agree with your assessment of the Castillo/Sanchez fight. I had Ruben ahead after 10, and Sanchez winning either 4 of the last 5, or all five.

    Sanchez win decision.
    Too smart. Much faster.
    Arguello cant catch him.
And his power was over rated.

I always thought Sanchez looked like the lead singer of the Bay City Rollers, but nevertheless I think he could do to Arguello what Vilomar Fernandez did, only better, as Alexis was a bit mechanical.

Sounds right. I had it even after 10. Sanchez winning the last five. Castillo still thinks he was robbed.

So you’re saying this fight should be held on S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night.

I have to go with Arguello. Sanchez was brilliant but just not around long enough to eclipse what Alexis did.

I've been giving it more thought, I think I might be selling Sal short.

    It's basically a dead-even matchup at 126.

I Disagree wholeheartedly. In regards to the Castillo fight, Sanchez was barely 21 and a whole lot better a mere couple of years later when he died at such a young age. It's ridiculous to imagine that had he reached the average prime years for a boxer(mid to late 20s) that his technique would not have been more polished and the depth of his ring savvy would not have improved.

I cautiously agree with you. I rate Arguello a bit lower than most people do, too.

Most 28 year olds don't turn pro at fifteen. His timeline was therefore different. Boxing age isn't about how many birthdays you've had.
