Aye Billy, i am a Harrison fan, but i am also a Burns fan.

I've said from the start Ricky should get an immediate title shot rather than a poxy domestic fight.
But Hearn wants to see Ricky at domestic level first rather than gamble Ricky in another title shot straight away.

An eliminator would be the better career choice for Ricky over the Harrison fight, but assuming its Crolla he's getting then that's a domestic level fight eliminator or no eliminator. And no way will that do better business than a fight with Scott Harrison.

What you need to remember is a lot of Ricky's fans are Scott's fans as well and these fans would rather see Burns fight Harrison rather than Crolla because it's a bigger and better night for Scottish boxing.

This eliminator thing with the Crolla/Murray winner must be for the WBO i imagine, seeing as their fighting for Crolla's WBO Intercontinental title, which must mean going down the Crawford route again? But Crawford wont have a mandatory for up to 9 months to a year.
So how can it be a final eliminator for the WBO? And how can it be a final eliminator for any other organization when Crolla/Murray will only have a top 15 ranking by the WBO?

Ricky IMO is a very popular fighter more so than Scott the attendance figures would back that up as well, IMO Scott isn't at this present moment in time a bigger fight than Crolla or Murray
Why would it need to be a final eliminator for the WBO?

I will use your phrase, many people may see Ricky v Scott as a poxy domestic clash given the rankings both lads have

It would need to be for the WBO seeing as Crolla/Murray wont have a top 15 ranking by any other organization.
Both fighters have to be ranked to have a final eliminator? Or has the rules changed over night?

Boxing is more popular in UK now that it was when Scott was world champion thanks to Rickys promoter Eddie Hearn, without him Ricky's crowds would not be as big. Not having a pop but fact is Ricky has declined massively in recent fights, is not world class at the moment. Was most improved fighter in Uk, but has lost speed and believe, hunger for battle in last fight amongst other major flaws. Your right in post both Scott and Peter wanted Ricky to win fight. Ricky can have a world title eliminator but in 10 years only hardcore fight fans will remember but the masses would remember Scotland two best fighters of there generation fighting 30 years down the line

The only time burns will fight in front of 10,000 fans again is if he fights on the undercard of a big fight, or if he fights Harrison. Maybe if he gets another title shot but if he ****s that up, it'll be back to the bellahouston leisure center for him.

Couldn't agree more. Ricky on the slide won't retain paying customers the same as an all action fighter as his style is generally boring. He's been lucky that Eddie Hearn can put on good fighters on undercard like Joshua. I can't see Ricky being a world champion ad at the minute he is lacking in so many areas at the moment. Some weaknesses have always been there, so more recent like a loss of speed, heart, throwing to many single shots, lack of head movement. Add to that lack of punch power that's always been there and I see to many faults

Add to that completely out of range with his jab.

If he goes down the domestic route for his first fight back he needs to win big and put on a Mitchell like performance or he will never get to that level again.
Can he do it? I have my doubts.

I forgot about throwing jabs from a different postcode to his opponents, to many flaws. He was so improved but is going backwards

Well we will see, I disagree with you about boxing being more popular now than when Scott fought, the facts are the Scott fought in front of 6k at breahead Ricky twice sold out the SECC and will do so again in June at the Hydro.
Ricky will have a short break then get back in the gym for June and hopefully prove the doubters he still a class act and will win a world title.
Afterall you only need to ask his quality sparring partners Kevin, lee,Luke,Tyrone,Martin and terry if Ricky's went back the way not one of them would say he has.

Hopefully Scott gets his licence returned , if he could get a wee tune up fight blow somebody away in style throw himself in the mix and get the winner of say Crolla/Murray then i think youd get your wish of the Burns fight untill then i think it be hard for Hearn to matchmake them

Doesn't matter what sparring partners say when we can see in his fights he has went backwards. Should send him to the wildcard gym for a few weeks for top class international sparring, and a change of environment.

I hope he gets license back and there is a lightweight prizefighter coming up he can fight in (is much better than that) but he would get a few domestic fights in the one night, great publicity and am sure he would win with his style and skills, and 32k for privilege.
