    This right here

SM also mentally tough as they come. Too much for Red to deal with

In what sense? Canelo has obviously put in a great deal more work in on his skills than Jr ever did and it shows. Canelo never followed guys around the ring as badly as Jr did and has improved greatly since Jr was even in the conversation.

In what sense is JCCjr that fought Martinez anything like the current iteration of Alvarez? They both throw a left hook to the body. They're both Mexican. Other than those 2 things, if you can't detect the class difference at this point, between JCCJr and Canelo, I don't know what to tell you.

Here's the other thing. Peak Sergio who "ate Jr for breakfast" was never the same after. He got caught and very nearly KTFO and was broken and slow forever after.

Martinez is overrated as hell around here. At his peak, maybe, he could make make it close and boring like Lara did, but I think Canelo is better now than he was then and that fight wouldn't go down the same way if they were to rematch now.

Prime for prime I'll take Alvarez by decision.

Makes no difference if Canelo and JCC fought nothing alike. Canelo does't apply any where near the amount of pressure required to be successful. jcc was a much bigger threat due to his size , strength , power . an ambush boxer is all wrong for canelo . that's the style floyd used to shut him out 12 - nothing.
sergio has a lot more spite than floyd and hits a lot harder.

and you can't say canelo is a lot better now based of beating amir khan and beefy smith ffs:facepalm:

his team said recently that munroe would never get to fight canelo and the reasoning they gave was munroe's movement . canelo having to go looking for him is exactly what they said.

and they are correct. munroe would lead canleo around the ring punching shadows. this is a guy who hits like a light weight with a 20% stoppage rate:eeek:
sergio didn't throw piter patter shots like munroe. he had a strike that would spark you clean out. not even iron chinner jcc would walk through his shots.
canelo never felt power like that in his life and remind me what middle weight he ever beat to make a case for him beating sergio?

Canelo would have lost to The Punisher, its a pity what happened to Paul, he looked sensational against Ishida, his only shortcoming was that he performed poorly against southpaws, but so does Canelo. I was primed and ready fot the upst when the match was announced.

Pavlik would have destroyed Canelo, Murray would have probably beaten him as well.

As far as Chavez goes, he's massive, I have a hard time seeing a 5'7 JMW bullying a 6'0 CW around the ring, he'd finally be facing a bigger weight cutter than him.

Like i said both are come forward flat footed fighters and jr is much bigger and much stronger. Those are the similarities.
I like how you conveniently left the knee injury out of your assertion that sergio was never the same after the jr fight. The knee injury killed Sergios career. Btw after getting dropped in that 12th round he got up took some shots but then started giving jr the business before the round ended.
Youd take alvarez by decision? You wouldve lost a lot of money if you had put your money where your mouth is.

Yeah...didn't read that whole thing but suffice it to say that I just never saw Sergio as all that spiffy and that being the case, I don't find it an outrageous claim to say that I think Canelo beats him as i think pretty highly of Canelo even if that camp pisses me off no end at times.

It would be a good fight, but once Martinez figured out how stationary Canelo is, he embarrasses him.

When was prime Martinez? I dont think may American fans knew of him until he was later in his career fighting Cintron, whereas in the UK we got to see prime Martinez get up after being hurt to beat Williams.

SM always had huge , and I mean HUGE stamina problems. he couldn't fight round after rounded without collapsing from any partial landed shot.

there is NO way SM could ever compete with Canelo, canelo is the advantage in every aspect , most lopsidedly . which SM is this "prime" skilled SM ????

Canelo is far more skilled, 100% more durable, way better counter puncher with much better technique. I don't see SM doing ANY better against canelo than he fared against cotto.
