    Prime Liston vs the following

    Donovan Razor Ruddock
    Tony Tucker
    Frank Bruno
    Phil Jackson
    Oliver McCall
    Tommy Morrison
    Henry Akinwande
    Andrew Golota
    Shannon Briggs
    Zeljko Mavrovic
    Evander Holyfield
    Michael Grant
    Franz Botha
    David Tua
    Hasim Rahman
    Mike Tyson
Vitali Klitchsko (this can be a seperate thread)

Say Liston fought this line up in his prime. Could he make it through undefeated?

Liston fought 1 belt holder: Patterson. Nobody else of his opposition could get any belt, before or after Liston. How many belt holders do you see in that list of 17 good fighters?

Here is his resume what it would look like in the 80s: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/rate-mike-tyson-with-another-resume.603860/ Its razor thin.
But Liston was an underachiever. He could have done better with other fighters out there. You can give him the benefit of the doubt.

Lewis didn´t make it out undefeated, Holyfield didn´t and Bowe cought one loss as well in the 90s. In other words: Its totally unlikely.

Also Lewis lost via one punch KO's......from all accounts, that's unlikely to be the case with Liston

How do you know? Did he got cought by two heavy handed guys? The Rahman right was brutal and unlucky placed as it can get. He should survive the McCall shot.

I saw Liston shook by Ali in their first fight by far softer shots than the right hand McCall caught Lewis with but Lewis through a dreadful right and and was countered as he threw it adding power and surprise to the shot Liston was harder to counter like that, Lewis looked like he was drunk that night and when he fought Bruno Liston was far sharper and wouldn`t be countered like that.

Tua could of beat Liston but both of them had lethal hooks that came out of nowhere.

I think Liston goes through them all except for

David Tua- could get caught by a bomb ?

Mike Tyson - Tyson by KO before 6
Vitali Klitchsko - Vitali by late stop-8-12

Liston was great when he came along and in his time but IMO he is an average guy grouped in with this list....tough list he wins some and loses some
