Sonny. George was pushed or got gifts vs guys not on his level if he was young. He's not beating a Sonny Liston then. It's not even certain he'd beat Liston prime for prime.
Sonny beats him. For me, and I'm also lonely voice, Old George was a better fighter than young George all things considered. He was adept at cutting the ring off, he walked opponents into traps, his punches all had weoght, not just the 'go to work' ones. But I think Liston keeps him honest with that thudding jab and is able to stay on the outside. He didnt have the quickest feet but I dont think the best Sonny allows old George, or young George for that matter, to settle, to dictate the fight. Liston is shrewd enough, educated enough and powerful enough to win a sonetimes brutal boxing match with George. He might lose a fight, but not a boxing match....
Old Man Foreman too tough, too hard hitting. I'd agree Liston was the somewhat better boxer but he was not that hard to land on himself. If it comes down to chins and power only one guy wins that contest.
Liston, he actually had amazing head movement in his prime, I think his defense would save him here, he just outboxes Foreman.
