This content is protected [/QUOTE] Tyson beats Liston and Holyfield loses to Liston. But I agree with everything else here.
Liston loses to Holyfield and Lewis, beats everyone else IMO. 90s Tyson will get stopped like Patterson. Styles make fights.
He would have fitted into that era nicely, he came a good 30 years too late IMO. He had the jab and the power to do great against all the above fighters.
I think Lewis would be the biggest danger. I'd back him to roll post Douglas Tyson. Holyfield would be tough but his penchant to war and Sonny's inside game gets him home i think. He wouldn't be able to nullify him like he did Tyson.
Liston beats- Morrison and Moorer by KO He beats- Mercer and McCall by Decision He loses to- Foreman Holmes Bowe Lewis Tyson and Holyfield
Tyson was faster (hands and feet), more elusive, more accurate, and punched just as hard if not harder. Tyson was also a quicker starter, don't let those 1st round KOs over a much smaller and not so durable Patterson fool you. Don't be fooled by the 2nd a 3rd round KOs over Williams either. Cleveland Williams was/is overrated. He looked the part but take a closer look... he never got past the 3rd round vs. Liston x2, Ali, or Bob Satterfiled. He went 1-1 vs. Ernie Terrell and fought to a Draw vs. Machen. What else did he do? Liston beat Eddie Machen by decision, good solid win, tough fight. Zora Folley was as good as Machen (actually he was a bit more technical) but less durable. Liston stopped Folley in the 3rd round.
Liston probably knocks them all out. Holyfield has the best chance of springing an upset or surviving the distance.
Not only that but he would have been able to get fights, and he would have made better use of his prime years.
I cant see him losing to an older version of Foreman or Holmes. I cant really see him losing to Bowe to be honest.
Just dont understand how on this forum soooo many people have Holy beating almost every heavyweight that ever lived. I just dont c it. Anyway I favor Liston over everybody with Bowe and Tyson giving him the toughest tests and very possible winning 1 out of 3. Bowe with his inside game and Tyson with early speed and angles.
