Moore at his best heavyweight form fights a 58-62 Liston. While I favor a Liston KO, could Moore make it very interesting? Moore was highly skilled and had a good punch, even at heavyweight.

It would be interesting fight, Moore would trouble Sonny early since he was very slick boxer but Sonny would catch him in mid rounds and stop him by TKO.

Moore never had problem with guys like Liston just with fast punchers with good stamina.

It'd be interesting for sure, but ends the way that most of us imagine. Liston knocks him out in the mid to later rounds.

Archie will give it his best shot and he might be able to briefly frustrate Liston, but it will not end well for him.

Moore would go out like a warrior on his shield, but I see Liston winning the day

It could be competitive for a while, yes. Moore has a good track record at Heavy.

Probably a worse beating than Patterson gave him

Because of the ulcers prime Archie Moore never actually existed. But if he did I don't think anyone from the smallest era of the past century could have stood up to Liston.

It’d be competitive until Liston clocks him with an uppercut mid-rounds, it’d be all downhill from there for Moore. Charles stands a better chance against Liston, with him having lighter feet and better at extending his punches, not saying Moore has bad feet or can’t box at range, but they’re things Charles was better at, Charles was more athletic.

Archie was amazing, but Liston hit too hard. Liston in 2.

Sonny takes Archie out by the 5th round but up until then the Ol' Mongoose furnishes Ol' Stoneface with an extremely interesting evening.

That is the logical outcome considering that Archie, as good as he was, lacks the firepower or endurance required to stand up to prime Sonny.
