Liston definently takes this. If a very old very washed up Liston with the flu dominated leotis before that lucky shot and ended his career, im scared to think what a prime Sonny Liston would do

Yes. Turn the clock back about 7-10 years and the proposed outcome is almost inevitable.

True, i think Leotis would come on strong later in the fight and once Liston realises hes not going to win this, hell look for a way out

Liston would have most likely have won this but I see the inside style of Leotis being a problem and I see something that an inside fighter could expose. Sometimes it takes a fighter who has slowed down to see his flaws but guys with the in the pocket style of Ezzard Charles and Riddick Bowe among other inside fighter being a problem for Sonny

Martin was better than Whitehurst who gave Liston a frustrating time over 20 rounds. I don't think it is as simple as Liston being younger that would make martin an easy win for him. Martin would always have been trouble not just for Liston but perhaps a lot of fighters. He was good.

Liston was great against Clark and good against Scrap Iron. Being active and in shape was proving that whilst he was no longer prime Sonny was proving to be a still capable veteran when Leotis beat him. Remember George Foreman?

I don't think anyone could say Liston was an accident waiting to happen when Leotis beat him. It was always going to take a good fighter to beat Sonny.

Liston should very obviously be favoured, and was very obviously past-prime when Martin beat him.

Liston always beat Leotis Martin in sparring.

Liston was past his prime. He was still decent though.

Martin was very obviously better than Whitehurst.

I think Sonny would win but it would not be easy. I would be surprised if it was a blow out.

Sonny late stoppage or win on points.
